I never want to move into the top ten again unless it means taking a QB, Left Tackle, or Pass Rusher

With the rookie cap, I don't mind at all moving into the top ten for an impact player at any position as long as I'm not trading picks to get there.

If Dallas dangled Dez i think the Raiders would be one of the teams to offer their pick. Dez is better then any player in this draft. And WR is a huge need for the Raiders and David Carr. I think they would jump. I just threw in more players for the fun of it, make it interesting lol.

Cooper IMO is going to be ok, but i think White is going to dominate. The guy plays like Dez. Goes for the ball at its highest point, doesnt go down easy and blocks really really good. Imagine what White, Gordon, and DGB could do for Dallas. And all 3 would be about half the salary of what Dez wants in a yearly salary.

I admit it would be a pipe dream and Dallas would be set for years to come.

You mean Derek Carr?

I'm not sure if David still plays...

lolz, I love it! Great mock..., its crazy but a great haul indeed.

Lol i was just thinking what the hell am i gonna do with this. And then i just read up on teams that are in need of WRs. Jerry has a great relationship with the Davis family. They need a star WR to go with their young QB. Makes alot of sense. Add in some pieces to help push them along.

My first thought was Williams, but with the Titans going with Mettenberger at QB i dont see how Williams gets past them. Not going to trade up to #2 overall because thats 800pts. Thats basically next yrs first to move up 2 spots. I thought about cooper but i dont think he's anything special. And i dont like the tweeners since Dallas has its own tweener in Lawrence. So i looked down and saw the jets and rams who would be looking for a QB. Jets could sit but the Rams need to jump some teams to get it. Theyre at 10. Easy trade to nab a WR. White is my favorite WR in this draft. Plays with the same kind of attitude as Dez. Has alot of the same skills too.

I still ave the 27 pick, lol one of the RBs is clearly the BPA. I knew i would get some responses i got, why do you pick a Rb when you have dallas resigning Murray. Murray got 511 touches this yr. He isnt going to get them kinds of touches again. a guy like Gordon could reduce that load. And not only that i dont think Dallas would resign Murray to anything more then 3 or 4 yrs. I dont think there is a team in the NFL that willing go over 6 mil a yr on this guy either knowing the amount of work the cowboys put on him this yr. 1-2 punch makes it alot easier.

Decided to add more depth to the DL in Bennett, would love him on this DL. And then went with a guy who i also love in this draft Green-Beckham. Little bit of a charcter issue, but i think he will be fine. End it with Alex Carter. Those 5 picks alone would be a excellent draft.

Then Add Ogbuehi, Reed and Rowe hahahaha. I really had fun doing this draft. Oh yeah not to mention picking up Sheard Fairley and McCourty in FA lol.

If something like this happened Dallas would win the superbowl, but im sure there would still be people crying about Dez lol

i really hate the patriots but this is exactly the kind of move they would make and is also part of the reason they've been able to stay relevant for so long. Patriot WRs that were allowed to walk: Randy Moss, Welker, Super Bowl MVP Branch....
I think if I traded Dez and planned to draft Gordon or Gurley in Rd 1, I wouldn't want Murray back on a big money deal...maybe a transition tag...?
Also, no reason to get rid of Escobar IMO. I like him a lot.
Thirdly, I think I would take one of the top OGs in the draft like Matias instead of another WR in D G-B. Leary was abused in several games later in the season. I think we could use an upgrade or quality depth there.
Without having to pay Dez, Randall Cobb's 9 mil sounds really doable and he boosts the return game.
Instead of the A&M OT, I'd consider the South Carolina guy who can step in and back up year 1.
Somewhere we have to grab a LB. I like Clemson's Anthony in the mid rounds.
I'm a big Ok St fan and like Dez a lot from back then, easily the most excited i've ever been during a draft when we got him. However, can't say trading him for a haul like this and using the money and draft picks to fill multiple positions is a bad idea. The only player on a team you absolutely have to pay is the QB. Everyone else is largely expendable and replaceable.

Here you go @DuDa lol. i wouldve put it in the main forum but they wouldve just moved it here.

Now ill say this before the uptight get involved in this thread. This is just something i thought i would do to see what kind of offseason it would look like and what the ramifications it could have.

Dallas trades Dez Bryant to the Oakland Raiders for their RD1 and RD2 and RD4 picks. Dallas also trades Gavin Escobar and Barry Church to the Raiders.

So Dallas trades away its Franchise WR and what could be Wittens replacement but gets very nice placements in the draft and starting SS.

So Now Dallas has to find a WR and a backup TE.

One thing it does it freeup alot of money.

Dallas resigns
Brandon Carr(paycut)
Tyron Smith(restructure)
Tony Romo(restructure if needed)

Demarco Murray
Bruce Carter
Doug Free
Rolando McClain
Cole Beasley
Sterlin Moore

Free Agency
Jabaal Sheard DE
Nick Fairley DT
Devin McCourty FS
Leonard Hankerson WR
Colt McCoy QB

NFL Draft
RD1 OAK
Dallas trades pick to Rams Dallas gets RD1(10) and RD2 pick. Rams pick Mariota
RD1(STL)
Kevin White WR West Virginia
IMO the best WR in this draft class. Big WR with speed. Runs all the routes and goes up for the ball better then anybody in this draft.

RD1
Melvin Gordon RB Wisconsin
Imagine the 1-2 punch of Murray and Gordon. And Dallas has its replacement for Murray in a couple of yrs. win win situation.

RD2(OAK)
Michael Bennett DT Ohio State
3tech who gets after the QB up the gut or on stunts. Really fast off the snap. Building a rotation on this DL that will dominate.

RD2(STL)
Dorial Green-Beckham WR Missouri
6'5 WR with speed. Dropped because of issues he had at Missouri, but is a top 10 talent.

RD2
Alex Carter CB Stanford
Big CB who can play man and zone. Not flashy but just does his job. Smart player.

RD3
Cedric Ogbuehi OT Texas A&M
Stash him on PUP for this yr and let him compete with Free in 2016

RD4(OAK)
Cedric Reed DE Texas
More rotation for that DL

RD4
Nick Boyle TE Delaware
Big TE who can block and catch. Small school guy but its not like Witten is going anywhere for a few yrs

RD5
Eric Rowe DB Utah
One of the guys they had playing both CB and FS at SR bowl week. Could be the same type of player in Dallas.

RD7
Kyle Loomis P Portland State

RD7
AJ Tarpley LB Stanford

So Dallas is going to resign all of those guys and sign those free agents ??? I wish the world works like this.

out of all the guys on in that post, McCourty would probably be the highest annual salary and it wouldnt be more then 7mil a yr IMO and most likely closer to 6mil

I was thinking about your hypothetical and thought of the other way it could happen

What if Philly traded their 1st this year and next to move up and get Mariotta
Then they trade Foles to HOU for their 1st in 2016
Then they sign Dez to an offer sheet Dallas won't match like 6/96m
They would owe Dallas two firsts but they wouldn't have any before 2017 and 2018(they can't trade HOU's old 1st)
That would stink for Dallas, especially if Philly did well and made the playoffs in 2017 and 2018 and the firsts were in the late 20s.

It might help us find and trade up for Romo's replacement in 2017 but it would kill us in the short term, except for the money and cap space saved.

I don't like or want the Aggie.....got any other OL you can take instead

Also, Hankerson is not good. Is there a possession type WR we can sign to go along with the 2 picks, Beasley, and Street?

Count me as one that appreciates the thoughtful hypothetical, although unlikely, scenarios.

It was definitely a fun read.
