Dez Tweet

I did the exact same thing. I rather have him for the rest of season and miss this game

If it is a bruise, there is no risk for further injury.

If it's a bad enough bruise, there is no way he can run full speed and do everything he needs to do on the field to play at anywhere near 100%.

And you certainly can aggravate a bruise by playing.

According to Steve Dennis live at SF, Dez is a game time decision.

Just because Dez thinks h is going to play doesn't make it so. It remains a game time decision. I'm hoping he is good to go but I seriously doubt it.

I'm sure he intends on playing.

But I'm betting the team tells him no.

At this level of competition, playing with a deeply bruised quad risks injury elsewhere. Changing the way you run, plant, cut can lead to strains on other muscles as you change the way that you run. Fast track to screwing with his ankles, calfs or hamstring. Not a good plan. That said, I have no idea how bad his injury was, so what i'm really hoping for is that the quad isn't badly bruised and that what we say on Sunday was a combination of dehydration and a mild-moderate bruise which has healed.

key word, hoping

Yeah, we don't know how bad the bruise is. But what you say is correct should it be a significant bruise.

These folks saying it's "just a bruise" don't really know what they're talking about. Let me see them sprint down the field on a significantly bruised quad from one week ago.

I'm also not Dez Bryant. Watch him sprint down the field today. If I'm wrong I'll eat crow on this thread later.

I have to bench him in FF. All my other options play early. Can't risk him being declared out right before the game.

Glazer just said on NFL NW Dez will be checked out when he takes the field before the game and will be a game time decision.

p.s. we are talking about Dez. Start him.

every media outlet is copying the other saying "hes most likely out." Or "its a game time decision."

so lame, nothing to see here.

I'm looking for him to play. They need him in there so Miles Austin can have a favorable matchup, not to mention the running room it can create for Felix.

It's the 49'ers, Miles will have favorable matchups with or without Dez

If any bruise (only) keeps you from playing you're a *****!

Man up!

It's got nothing to do with "Man up!" if he can't physically go.

We are talking about a deep muscle bruise, and not torn muscle or cartilage. With a similar bruise, that went through thigh pads, which he doesn't wear, I was walked around for about thirty seconds and told to get back out there. With a cracked elbow, I was given a cast...AFTER the season was over.

There are some expectations, even in today's game.

Let him get another seventy yards and a touchdown the first quarter, and then sit him down for the day...and smile a lot.
