Dezappointment

It's and issue but it's no excuse for his lack of production.

This is just another indictment of Jason Garrett and his awful awful schemes.

I agree. I'm just confused on why Dez has dropped so many balls this year. You're totally right about this offensive scheme. It's just horrible.

He gets separation regularly but one man can only do so much against schemes designed to roll coverage his way.

Does he? I'm not not so sure any more.

I'm wondering if his issues with his back and are holding him back than the front-office has let on.

Was Alston open when he leapt up over Webb to score that touchdown? How many times did they throw the ball up and let the big receiver go up to get it? And yet for some reason, we don't afford Dez that opportunity. If Dez went to a team like the Patriots, somehow he'll magically have learned the playbook in that same year and he'll magically have known how to run his routes.

the reason romo doesn't throw it up to dez is because romo is snake beaten, his track record on dumb passes is not good...his confidence in himself to complete a lob pass is very low and he no longer willing to take the risk, because his past shows he losses more then win with that style of play..so if dez can't consistently seperate then you will see the stats he has now at this point of the season with romo under center!!!!

And this is where I am. He is EASILY schemed away from production. He doesn't take advantage of his opportunities (dropped passes kill drives). He is not judicious with the football (turnovers kill drives). The team is reluctant to move him around (why?).

No matter the offense, no matter the coverage, no matter the QB- Dez Bryant should be making more plays. While I agree that Garrett's offense is absolute garbage, I feel like some fans are afraid of a change that MIGHT prove Dez Bryant is nothing more than an above average WR.

I'd like to find out, and am willing to wait before submitting a verdict because I love his fire and his playmaking ability. My point is anyone rooting for the Cowboys has to be a bit shocked at his lack of production other than redzone scoring. And that's hard to argue.

He's arguably one of the most talented WRs in the league. He cares about the team. He cares about winning. His passion for playing football is undeniable. His enthusiasm is unmatched.

With that being said you do NOT base whether you resign this type of player on some arbitrary set of stats. Letting Dez Bryant leave this team does nothing but turn WR into a position of need. It would not help the team in any way.

Dez is not part of the problem.

I will say this. His blowup on the sidelines.........didnt work. His teammates, didnt respond........

Speaks volumes.....

This offensive staff does not know how to utilize the talents we have, they just do not know how to design plays to get guys open or at least give them an edge. I look at guys like Andre Johnson and Brandon Marshall, throughout their careers they are usually near the top at receptions every season and look at their QB's Carr/Schaub and Cutler. Sure over the last few years they have had a good rushing game but it wasn't always that way and neither up until this season with Alshon did either of them have any other pass catching talent around them. Those teams found ways to get the ball into their hands even when everyone knew it was going their way. They found mismatches, used misdirection, play-acton, picks, rubs, whatever they could find to give their star players an edge and use their talents. I used Johnson and Marshall as examples because I think Dez is most similar in size and style of play.

This offensive staff does a poor job in play design. One poster said that JG's design appeared more like he leaves it to the player to find a way to get open instead of designing plays to get them open. It sure does appear that way too much of the time.

I'm really not happy with the team, and I know he's not played "badly", and I know he cares... Nor is he the reason for the Cowboys offensive funk- because for whatever reason he doesn't get balls thrown to him. But if you told me Dez Bryant would not have 1000 yards receiving by wk. 13 in a season where he has started every game, I would have bet every hypothetical penny I had on those odds.

If this offense is supposed to work like the '86 Commanders "Smurfs" outfit where the ball is thrown to whoever is open instead of relying on a supreme talent like Bryant- than his selection is ALSO a bust. Noone can possibly know exactly why his production isn't greater but if the organization has questions on his mental capacity for the game at this point I would make him also available.

Nothing less than a 1500 yard performance prior to his rookie contract expiration date and I wouldn't even broach the possibility of re-signing him. He makes too many mistakes at this point- mental and physical.

Mr. Saggy Pants, Mr. Cross-His-Wrists, Mr. Cap Slapper -- hasn't gotten his projected 2,000 yards? But he struts so well . . . !

Could be he's not all that. Could be he has bad hands. Could be he gives up after his 2nd double team. Could be he's second tier and not first?
Could be a lot of things. One thing that is: He's not all that this season.

No, that wasn't a blowup! That was passion! He cares! He is a competitor! His sideline rant was really a motivational speech!

At least that is what I was told after his non-blowup.

I'm convinced dez is playing at about 70% health . He has had lots of little nagging injuries this year . When he has the ball in his hands running he has a limp . He isn't as explosive this season combo of back and leg .

It happened to Keyshawn, R. Williams, Owens and now Dez. I don't know but it seems we have that kind of problem for years now to put those players in the right position to make plays.

TO made huge plays here. 2 of the others sucked. Jury is out on the third.

Speaks volumes about who? Like the players on this team have a track record of winning/toughness. Lol I want Dez gone from this team since guys have so much to say about him. Go win elsewhere. You think Jenkins played well against Dallas, watch what Dez does in another uniform vs Dallas. Maybe then you characters will keep your mouths shut.

Can you imagine Dez in Denver, NO, NE, Sea, etc. He's absolutely my favorite player on this team, I hate he's not being used like our best weapon..

Denver got the better all around WR/teammate from that draft (Thomas). Plus Manning is better than Romo.

It's not about Dez not doing much, we need a good coaching staff that gives their playmakers the ball and when they have trouble too, too find way too get them the ball not wait and see if it can start working, no no no make that sh** work and that's that no excuses, your being paid as a coaching staff too put this players in position too perform and get W's not be in here for 3-4 years and still saying it's a damn process.

My bet is that he burns out and gets dropped like Brandon Lloyd. The Pats have no time for player who runs bad routes and can't learn the playbook.
