Hi Zoners...

It is possible that I will be moving to the DFW area in October to start a new job in Plano. Partly out of excitement and partly out of preparation I've been looking on Zillow to try to find possible places to live. Could you natives let me know the "up and coming" areas that have a bit more space? We are hoping to live a little farther out from Plano in an area where we can have an acre or two without spending a million bucks. Any tips on good places to land would be much appreciated!

Anywhere along the northern part of 75 has become really hot, due to Toyota and a few other companies relocation.

Check out Wylie and Sachse as well.

Do you have kids (school district, etc)?
How big does the house need to be?

What have you heard about Wylie? I looked there and saw some nice prospects, although it is about 30 minutes away on the GB Turnpike from where I will work. Does the Turnpike normally have heavy traffic in the mornings?

House im probably looking between 1,500 and 2,000 sq. ft, but I am flexible. Were newly married with no kids, so its our first place. We'd like to get something with a little elbow room, thats the main goal.

I'm not from that area of the Metroplex. Traffic in the AM is unknown to me.

But Over off Legacy is the "STAR".

I live near Firewheel, just south of Wylie. Close enough to big city conveniences, but you can still buy a big plot of land. Nice area. The Bush gets backed up in the mornings. Traffic is unavoidable if you want average close to Plano. 75 is always a mess.

The Azure is good in Dallas.
And it's great for socialization. You can swing into uptown and chill. Oh you need to check out Moxies by the Crescent, but make sure you have a signed prenup first! That's critical.

I work in Plano. It's full. So is Allen.

Frisco is still up and coming but it's getting full as well.

You want to go a little more north for what you want. Prosper or Celina.

Thanks. If one lives in Frisco and drives in is the traffic nightmarish coming into Plano?
