brady tinker was on, and had mac engel on, some interesting stuff;

first, talked about adam jones and not talking about using his name pacman again, brady said he wants to give him the chance to move on and be a great player, mac said thing for fans and media as using adams previous name if adam doesnt do something to bring that name back due to something he does wrong

talked about moving henry to safety, that the cowboys are going to have great cover corners now, and henry has been slowly moved to safety and roy williams eased out;

mac talked about the draft, the wow guys mac said were felix jones first, that sure this guy is a rookie and he should be, but if he comes on like mac thinks he will and from what he saw at OTAs, then that will bring our running game that much more than what it was last year with julius, so look for that big impact

then mac said jenkins is looking really good, is a player

talk went to Bennett, is he or isnt he a great te, talk is, he wows you with his athletism, but not on every play, so he has either got to get to work on maybe his biggest drawback, his work ethic, but Bennett is getting a good view of work ethic from wathcing Jason Witten

talked some about terry glenn, and the contract issue of jerry jones wanting to only play 500,000 insurance policy,

all in all pretty good, maybe dc or theebs can put it up,

this thursday night will be a new show, always new shows mondays and thursdays, but this thursday night, will be coverage of all camp preview, etc,

i think when glenn realizes that no one is going to give him a 1.720,000 this year on that bad knee because he cant really pass a physical

when glenn realizes that, and the cowboys did offer to give him a raise from 320,000 to 500,000 then glenn will wake up, and with glenn wanting a superbowl win before he retires, he knows his time is short

so i think by training camp, he will come to some terms, now the cowboys may have to go up to about 550,000 to about 700,000 or so, but not more than that,

and when glenn realizes that if he does get hurt, he still will be with the team, if he signs, and can help tutor the young wrs, and that extra money say minus 1,720,0000 minus 500,000 to 700,000 will save us about a milion or little more, that can be used to get a veteran player in case of injury or help use that money to resign canty or hamlin to lock them up for 4-5 years

DFW SportsBeat and Brady Tinker are fast becoming my favorites for Cowboys news on TV.

I will miss Breer on the DMN though. I really liked his analysis.

Galloway said the same thing -- that after talking to some people on the Cowboys' staff, they think Felix and especially Jenkins look great, while Bennett has started a little slow.

But heck, Wade was practically gushing about Jenkins in that Blitz interview theebs posted. Great news for our first round pick(s).

I sure hope that means Jenkins gets a chance to start, or at least get significant playing time. I hope that Henry moves to safety to get Jenkins and Pacman on the field more.

Hey Mac, Wade's already disputed the "Henry is moving to safety" meme.

I know. And he also said Ellis is the starting OLB. But I hope our coach is not so closed minded that he decides these things prior to training camp. I think the best player should start -- period.

And I believe that it would be good for the team and Henry for him to move to safety. We need depth and experience there.

This isn't intended as a criticism of you, cowboyjoe, but I would like to make a point here. I think everyone knows this, but it is routinely ignored even by the media types when the split contract is discussed.

The Cowboys ARE NOT trying to lower Glenn's contract from $1.7 million to $500K. Glenn will get a game check based on the $1.7 million for every game he plays, then the remainder of the games would be based on the $500K.

So if Glenn plays 8 games and then his right knee gets injured he will have earned $850K (half of $1.7 million) for the games played; then he will get $250K (half of $500K) for the games he is on IR for a total of $1.1 million. He would earn more or less depending on how many games he is able to play.

This makes Glenn's refusal to sign look even sillier unless he doesn't have enough faith in his knee that he can play half or more than half of the season. He is out there proclaiming that the knee is not going to be a problem. Okay, put your money where your mouth is, Glenn.

Ironically, it also sort of shoots a hole in the Cowboys' rationale that they need to save cap space so they can sign someone else if Glenn's knee fails. In the example above, they would save $500K in cap space. I know 500 is 500, but in the overall scheme of things, that's not going to make a lot of difference this year.

They would save more if Glenn didn't last 8 games but, if that's the case, if you don't think he will even last that long, why not just cut him now? Why would you want him for 4 or 5 games and then have to plug in different receivers with different talents after he can't play anymore. And who would be available to sign with that extra cap space anyway? Probably no one better than Crayton. So what's the point?

I agree with cowboyjoe that there will probably be a compromise offerred that would raise the $500 to something a little higher. And thank you very much, joe, for the recap.

But Leon, I think Glenn's concern is what if, say, he's blocking downfield and someone rolls up on that leg? The team could claim they only owed him the 500k even for a collision that would have damaged a perfectly good knee.

In that case it would be almost impossible to determine that the pre-existing condition was what caused him to be unable to play... Which is why I don't blame Terry too much.

That's a good point. Someone (maybe you) mentioned something similar a couple of days ago. Maybe the contract offer will be modified to exclude circumstances like that.

In any case, I hope the issue gets resolved. I want to see Terry play and I hope he lasts the entire year and get's a SB ring.

I definitely agree with that... Terry is one of my favorites.
