I'm glad the Cowboys are thinking about starting Felix Jones.
The only mistake is Brady Tinker thinking Felix Jones isn't "built to start" or "carry the ball 16-20 times per game". Felix Jones weighs 212 pounds. Felix is tough. He runs inside, but he's an inside/outside homerun threat every time he touches the ball. You don't have to or want to hammer him like a jack hammer. That is Marion Barber's job. The defense has to defend both edges and the middle when Jones touches the ball, and they better figure out which way he's going.
Chris Johnson played most of last year at 202 pound and ended the year at 194. Johnson rushed for over 1200 yards and made the Pro Bowl while carrying the ball 16.7 times per game. Chris Johnson is no better than Felix Jones.
The Titans wanted to draft Felix Jones.
Felix Jones is a potential 1,000+ yard rusher and a double digit TD player.
The fact that Tinker doesn't think Felix can be featured is comical.
He should go talk to Titans scout C.O. Brocato. Brocato will tell him. He's been a scout for 34 years and is considered one of the best ever, if not the best ever.
There simply will not be enough carries for three running backs, imo. I see primarily a two back system, with the third guy getting limited work.
Any carry distributed away from Felix Jones is absolutely stupid, and I don't think the Cowboys are going to be stupid. They already have a two point loss to Washington, in part, because they choose not to give Felix one, single carry.
Hello...
Felix Jones is one of Dallas' very, very best players, and I don't care how many games he's played. Felix is the most explosive weapon on the team.
