Diablo 3 has an open beta this weekend if you didnt get in the closed beta and are interested. You do need a battlenet account tho.
Ive played about 3 hours so far and im swinging towards a preorder for the may 15th release.

I played a bit last night. Ran a witch doctor through the beta quests. Laggy in places, but overall it was a lot of fun. I'm leaning toward the pre-order as well.

son of a BCH this has been a frustrating weekend all around so far.

anyway - for this i finally got the download, created my battlenet account and i simply can't log in. it either loses connection or signs me out of the battlenet service and i never get beyond the log in screen.

They took the servers down earlier today and have been ramping up access. I've gotten in once today.

Been playing the past few hours.

Feel free to friend me.

shimmergloom#1724 is my BT

My son and I will be playing once the servers come back up. They just went down again.

they're getting better with that.

i can only imagine how hectic it is there now.

and yea, i'm loving the game.

Had a great time playing the OB this weekend. I played all of the classes that were available. I really don't see anything else pulling me in outside the monk/barb.

The monk is INSANE and a blast to play. Normal mode is wayyyyyy to easy though, so I would imagine most folks needing to ratchet things up a bit for enjoyment purposes.

Fun story and had zero issues for the most part. You will need to have a nice PC to run it full out w/ no issues in game. I played w/ some friends this weekend who are already getting new video cards and more mem.

Def going to be a very fun game. May 15th can't get here soon enough.

Love the auction house where you can buy and sell items for in game gold. The friend system is easy and straight forward, making it very simple to create and meet up in online. I am surprised to not see a voice chat option inside of the game. I thought I read somwhere where they were including that. Maybe it just wasn't in the OB.

Very polished right now and like I mentioned earlier, I didn't have any problems. The network is still buggy. There are server side errors upon login occasionally, but nothing once you are inside your game.

Good times

Sounds awesome. If there is no in-game voice, you can just use TeamSpeak for your party.

The game is very polished as you say but the first time i started it it said i didnt have enough graphic memory when my gpu is a ati msi 6870 with a gig of memory and even with all graphical settings maxed the graphics are nothing even close to cutting edge.

Someone did make a file for dl that makes the graphics much much better.

That is better but not by much from what I saw this weekend. It is darker however, w/ hardcore and sharpness set.

I wonder if its driver related? I run an Nvidia GTX 570 and had no problems whatsoever.

My son's laptop on the other hand had some video setting problems. I am now looking to give him my PC and purchase an upgrade for myself. :D

That guy did some outstanding tweaks w/ that file mod. Thanks for sharing that.

I played on a MacBook Pro. Graphics were pretty dark, so not sure if I need to mess with the Gamma correction of if it was intended to be that dark.

I played everything except the Barbarian. The monk was fun, but I was running all over the place due to playing with a trackpad instead of a mouse.

Voodoo was fun, but looking forward to seeing the full skill tree to see if it will be on par with the Necro from D2.

Demon Hunter was a blast. Dual weilding crossbows and it is a damage machine. I loved the Ranger in D1, so this took me back. Nice not to have to carry around a bunch of arrows, etc.

Overall, I really like the changes to the game. I'm sure some will say they have over-simplified a bunch of stuff, but I like that you have flexibility to swap in skills, etc. Little things like the town portal skill and right clicking to identify gold items are nice touches. Also like how you have skills that build up your mana/faith/rage and others that use it. Keeps you from depending on one attack skill.

Looking forward to 5/15.

I got it with the WoW special, 12 months of wow and get a free D3 copy. Not a bad deal since I was never planning to drop my wow subscription.

I got into beta about 2 weeks ago, played it for 2 days strait and haven't picked it up since. I love it, its the right game at the right time for me. Just going to blitz the game to get the the end and start farming. I am sure the Act one story was cut VERY short and I am sure that health and damage was scaled back so yeah it was easy but I don't expect it to be that easy come live. I think it will be an awesome game, I was a little disappointed on the graphics, but blizzard is not known for being graphics ******.

The recommended video cards are NVIDIA® GeForce® 260 or ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 or better. That is recommended, not minimum requirements.

Minimum is NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800 GT or ATI Radeon™ X1950 Pro or better.

You would have to have a pretty old card to have troubles with your video unless it's a bug of some sort.

It's a top down view played game. What gfx engine can do better w/ that style of play?
