What exactly is the purpose of responding? Just so you can drop in a three-sentence whiny objection?

The purpose is to get geniuses like you to stop quoting huge chunks of text. It's not necessary, it's only annoying.

Cliff Harris was on with mike doocy last night and he said he played a whole season with the exact same thing as newman, its painful when you pushoff but you can play with it.

Newman played injured all through 04, so I have no doubt this will cause him to miss zero time.

Dallas may limit Newman in practice this season but I'm not concerned of Newman missing time because of this injury.

Hopefully this doesn't end up like Deion Sanders' turf toe circa 1998 and when he came back in 1999 he wasn't the same player.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this isn't a diagnosis of Newman's heel problem.

99.9% of every post here with "Diagnosis" or "Analysis" in the title aren't a "Diagnosis" or "Analysis" of anything. They're simply a person's opinion.

You can't possibly be the first person to realize this.

I am curious... can a "tear" really heal if you are mobile?

I have no idea but my guess woud be that he would have to NOT move that part of his foot for atleast some period of time, right?

Someone said Jason Taylor had it-ended up playing and being productive through that respective season. And he's older too.

Thanks for that.

Thing is... TNew has to spring down the field... Jason played closer to the line right? Different strain/pressure on said injury?

I would think Jason had to move lateral alot too, and then backwards to make tackles.

It evens out, either way.

I'm sure the training staff is going to do things like putting supports in his shoe, taping the foot and using anti-inflammatory to help ease the discomfort. I also think you will see Newman being limited in practice during the season to help rest the foot when they can. I fully expect Newman to be ready to go at the start of the season and I really don't think this is going to limit Newman in doing his job

Thank You!

I find it odd how when these things happen, you see all these PANIC posts by the 1000s(i.e. why didn't we draft this doped up guy, at least he can play OR why can't we trade the house for Asante Samuels, blah, blah blah).

I'm glad the Jones family and Wade don't read these cockamania threads.

People love to take the worst case scenario and go wild on that. I don't doubt that Newman will experience some discomfort but he is a football player and when you have played as many years as he has he understand at times you play with pain. I don't know many people who played this game from High School or up that does not understand that concept. The trainers will do things to help ease that pain and I'm sure they will do so
