This guy is funny if not just a little bitter.

I really love his "Ewing Theory."
joseephuss said:What is his Ewing Theory?
TruBlueCowboy said:It goes something like this....
When Patrick Ewing played for the Knicks, he was one of the most famous big men in the NBA. Yet, for some reason, when Ewing was out with an injury, or in foul trouble, the Knicks always seemed to play their best. Case in point, that year the Knicks went all the way to the Finals against the Spurs with Ewing out.
It's basically a fun thing Simmons places on teams where they lose their biggest star, yet the team suddenly comes together. It's when you lose that one player that everyone thinks you could never live without, yet for some reason, it makes for better team chemistry and wins.
The Seattle Mariners when they set the MLB record for wins in a season right after A-Rod and Ken Griffey left.
The Patriots winning 3 Super Bowls after Drew Bledsoe leaves.
Tennessee wins BCS after Peyton Manning leaves. USC wins after Carson Palmer leaves.
etc.. etc....
Bill Simmons writes so off-topic, he even applies it to music bands, TV and movie franchises.
