Did 2016 Dallas or 2024 Washington have the Better Team Going into their Playoffs? (Read Post 66)

The point being that people still talk about Dak like HE is the engine that drives the team is a joke. Dak needs TONS of support to win and that's all his history has shown us. He won't give the team a discount and so the overall product pays the price. Sure management could be better...but Jaydon Daniels showed us that a rookie can take a roster without 3 HOF lineman and a HOF tight end and a RB having a historic rookie season and a top 5 WR to the brink of a championship. You can even argue - if he maintains the same level of play - he's ALREADY better than "all-pro" Dak.

He was taking me to task on the 1 Pro bowlers on the skins.....I used the 2016 number on that and it was my mistake....but you are right the 2016 cowboys offense was light years ahead of the 2024 skins.

If Jaydon Daniels was on the 2016 Cowboys we'd have been in the NFC Championship game

That is an interesting observation, given they watched their favorite team beat Washington to advance to the Super Bowl.

The worst defeat in NFCCG history, ergo possibly the worst team to make the NFCCG

The team Dallas played in the divisional was full strength, whereas Detroit lost its entire defense. Washington also played a nail biter against the only <11 win team in the NFC playoffs to get out of the wildcard round. For Dallas, I would argue 2016 was even better than the 2014 team besides QB. Top 5 in points allowed, best Oline since the Great Wall, league’s leading rusher

It seems voting is being based on how far you made it in the playoffs rather than who had the better team around them.

they are doing it correctly, because you hae to factor in the coaching staff.

the skins coaching staff would mop the floor with Garrett and his crew.

Cowboys had a much stronger roster and it wasnt even close. Cowboys had 5 Pro Bowlers and Skins had just 1 and it was indicative of the overall talent level

Not to mention that the Cowboys had the most talented QB at backup which pushes them over the top as far as combined talent. Had the Coach of the year as well

2016 Boys were better than 2024 Washington by a mile

Good luck winning that argument when the 2016 Cowboys went one and done at home in the playoffs to a 10-6 team, while Washington in 2024 went on the road and beat two teams, including the number one seeded, 15 win Detroit Lions. That Lions team probably would have destroyed the 2016 Cowboys on the road. We were two scores down to Green Bay at home in the playoffs before mounting a comeback. Like I mentioned in a previous post, the 2016 Cowboys were better during the regular season but the 2024 Commanders ended up being the better team in the playoffs and that’s where it matters. You have to look at the entire regular season and postseason to determine who was better. Washington went further therefore they were the better team.
