I read on Wikipedia that Al Davis actually traded Jon Gruden for 2002 1st, 2003 1st 2002 2nd and 2004 2nd & 8 million USD.

Is this true? and if so, wth.

All you need to know is, Tampa won the SuperBowl and Oakland has been terrible ever since.

Actually, you also need to know that the Bucs fired Tony Dungy before that.

And Gruden was traded only because Bill Parcells turned the Bucs down.

And if you want weird, look up the Carroll Rosenbloom/ Robert Irsay affair. Trading entire franchises essentially.

Is it true that Joe Namath guaranteed the Jets would win Super Bowl III?

He did guarantee he'll get drunk silly and make an *** out of himself on national TV.

And Tampa beat Oakland in the Superbowl.

How's that for irony?

Buchanon may turn out to be the best defensive back to come out of the 2002 draft if he can stay healthy, and that includes Dallas safety Roy Williams.

oh how the times change

That's the juciest detail of all. Poetic justice. I'm not too fond of the Raiders organization.

Of course if you ever watched Chattanooga Choo Choo it was an embarrassment of a movie. Joe had a key role :lmao2::lmao2:

That Superbowl should have an asterisk by it. Gruden knew every play Oakland was running. Cheap win.

Yes and it's no longer allowed in the NFL.

Why not?
