Pacman at the end of his press conference with Owens.

Before I get into this let me once again go on record as being in favor of signing Jones. I see him as a top 5-15 CB and a big piece of our Super Bowl puzzel.

As usual I couldn't hear the press questions. I'm assuming someone must have asked Jones how he can be sure Pacman will do the right thing off the field.

In answering this question, I believe Jerry let a cat out of the bag.

Jones referred to a "stipulation" that Pacman had to adhere to to maintain his playing status during the first two years he played prior to his suspension. Jerry went on to say that he questioned Pacman about this as if it was only a positive. To paraphrase Jerry, "Oh I guess you are capable of changing behavior when you have to."

Could it be any more obvious that Jerry was referring to Pacman Jones' successful participation in the NFL's drug program. I mean what else could it be! Jerry should have stayed away from this topic all together.

wait, why are you getting twisted?

he said adam proved he could change, and that was a reason he considered the signing, what is wrong with that again?

Way to go out on a limb!! :yourock:

Do you seriously think Jerry, or anybody for that matter, would bring the likes of Adam on board if he was not in the top 5?

Think risk to reward factor.

So what your saying is,

because of one thing Jerry said about chaning behavoirs (even though pacman has continually said he's changing over and over) makes you believe that what? Pacman did drugs?

And now where in a fit because what? He *did* drugs?

My god, when will July get here

Next month. :D

He's had to put his house on the market. His lawyer said he couldn't pay his gambling debts on time because he was having to sell assets to raise the cash. It's obvious PacMan has blown all of his money and is flat broke ... I think that's what Jerry means by "You can change behavour if you have to". I think right now money is the driving force behind his good behavior. Kind of amazing, he blew through $13 million in guaranteed money from his rookie contract in the span of less than 4 years. That must have been a monsoon of making it rain.

It's also the reason why I would never give the guy guaranteed money ... I don't care if he's a boyscout for the next couple of years. Right now the Cowboys have him over the barrel. The moment you give him guaranteed money that you can't take back, he's got you over the barrel.

Just to make this clear. Pacman has already admitted to being in the NFL drug program so that's not a surprise here.

I do think that's what Jerry was referring to when answering the question.

But it's not like it is an issue that should be anything new, it's old news at this point in time.

Thanks for the clarification DC.
I've been offline the last 9 hrs or so. Funny how I just logged on you gave me just what I started this thread for. If Pacman was in the NFL drug program. Because like I said, it's obvious that's what Jerry's talking about.

My only concern was if Jerry had spoke out of turn and violated any confidentiality Pacman was entitled to. Happy to hear it was public knowledge, and like Jerry I'm happy to see he can exercise self control.

Yeah, Pacman admitted to being in the program in a radio interview.

It was either on the Irvin show or on an interview with an Atlanta radio show.

He actually said he could not have been smoking, in response to an officer accusing him of smoking, because he was in the program. lol.
