I was going to ask. But he was busy on his 8th doughnut.....
I didn't get that either. I haven't thought about it that much but it seemed too early to me also. I assumed it was because without the timeouts SF could have run the clock down to the 2 minute warning on their 3 plays. What bothered me was he did conserve a lot of time when the Cowboys got the ball back, but what you you do that if you were then just going to throw the football 4 times? Dallas go the ball with over 3 minutes left, threw 4 passes taking only 22 seconds off the clock. 3 of the 4 passes were to the outside, only 1 was to the middle of the field. I thought if you are going to save all that time it was so they could use the middle of the field, maybe even run the ball once or twiceI have never seen a coach use all those timeouts like that with still so much time left. Even if by some miracle the boys scored he would have left enough time for the niners to come back and win anyway. Plus by using all his timeouts they weren't able to extend the game and were forced to go for it on 4th and long.If they had their timeouts plus the 2 min warning they could have punted and tried to get the ball back, It's been how many years and MM's clock management is still the worst in the NFL
people tend to drop snark regardless of whether or not it fits the conversation.a reporter asking about that should get the reporter fired for being dumb. not relevant at all to the outcome of the game
run it and force Mike's son to call 49er timeoutsThe offense failed. What did yall want him to do?
They couldn’t run the football.run it and force Mike's son to call 49er timeouts
He has a history of being the worst clock manager in the game. Showed its ugly head again.Lol it was fine the way he used them. If we wouldn't have taken them they would have run the clock down and the scenario above wouldn't have played out at all (we wouldn't have been able to get the ball back).
we had not run it all that badly in the first half, but of course, we went pass happyThey couldn’t run the football.
A reporter should be able to ask any question they want without fear of retribution on the scale Jerry brings it........ using his money and influence to crush dissension. Jerry's "my way or the highway" attitude has no place in media. Hell, it doesn't even work in football.a reporter asking about that should get the reporter fired for being dumb. not relevant at all to the outcome of the game
I don't think it really matters at this point he got the ball back with a few minutes to play. They could have done whatever they wanted including running the ball and worked to run as much time off the clock as possible. Instead they go 3 straight passes just silly. I'm more disappointed in that than the use of timeoutsI have never seen a coach use all those timeouts like that with still so much time left. Even if by some miracle the boys scored he would have left enough time for the niners to come back and win anyway. It was fine. It saves the same amount of time whether you use them there or a minute later. I hate when teams save TOs for when they have the ball. You save more time when your opponent has it because they will run the whole play clock.I have never seen a coach use all those timeouts like that with still so much time left.
