Did anyone else get the sense that after Bailys first miss, it would happen again?

Kids been great this year. No doubt. I can't stand how fragile kickers are though. Fingers can be pointed in a million directions, mine are at Garett. However, did anyone else feel the same way I did after his first miss? Misses come in bunches with kickers its so frustrating

He wouldn't have missed it again if Garrett didn't call the TO. His first attempt was right down the center. Now not only did Ginger lose the game, he may have also lost our kicker's confidence.

I thought he shook his confidence by going for it on 4th down early before calling the last second timeout and sending Bailey out there.

Garrett was very indecisive yesterday.

So was the second kick, the one that doinked in. And that's when I really started to wonder about Bailey.

Not upset with Garrett as I think he just made a bad bet that he appeared to be reluctant to make and lost. In my opinion he called the time out to give the kicker another chance in case he missed it but he made it. I can see Garrett's thinking as Bailey had been hooking kicks all day and he was, understandably, gambling he would miss again and he was trying to give him another shot, he was not icing him. If it had worked everybody would be praising him and the Cowboys for pulling another close one out of the fire. Instead, he is today's goat.

I also suspected after the kick that hit the upright and bounced in so I thought he would be off as well. I wondered about the decision when he made it and you could tell from the lack of enthusiasm in his gesture to call it - I'm sure he was having his doubts. He didn't seem to me to be making decisions with confidence yesterday.

Not really to me it look like a bad hold on the 1st missed FG.

I don't think that FG is going to shake Bailey confidence. Kickers no matter who you are will miss FG. Good ones come back and go through the same routine as always and put in through the next time out.

One thing about sports you will have failures you learn to put it behind you.

The guy hasn't missed since week 2, he was due, and it was 53 yards on grass, too bad ivy league blew the game, and screwed the kid.

Bailey has been phenomenal this year. He was due for an off game.

I'm hesitant to say it because of the Murray/Julius thread, but this guy reminds me an awful lot of Nick Folk :laugh2:

I just hope he can put this game behind him and bounce back. We're going to need him down the stretch, especially considering our struggles in scoring TD's in the Red Zone.

What I sensed was when our offense failed to get anything in its first three drives with great field position, we were in for a long game. They've been living too dangerously close to the edge to not eventually fall off at some point and they did.

Not so shocking though, especially considering the Cowboys aren't as great as some would have us believe nor are the Cardinals as bad as everyone says they are.

I thought it would be a white knuckler and it was, unfortunately we let another one get away
