Unfortunately, I was on my way to lunch, so I wasn't able to do a recap.

Did anyone get a recap.

Regardless, did anyone hear Emmitt Smith say that he called Tony Romo and Tony Romo immediately told Emmitt, "I now know exactly what you were talking about".

Appearantly, Emmitt Smith has talked to Tony Romo about what it takes to be a champion and what great success feels like. I think Emmitt Smith said he called Tony Romo and Romo told him, "Now I know exactly what you were talking about".

Just a note on Emmitt Smith. I don't think he made that now notorious prediction of the Cowboys record out of spite. I think he really felt this team lacked some talent and maybe even discipline to make a Super Bowl run.

I think the guy is a huge Cowboys fan.

I feel very nostalgic when I heard Emmitt, Michael and Nate saying, "We", when referring to the Cowboys and the game against the Eagles.

I def agree about Emmitt.

This has to have been a very hard 13 year stretch for those guys as well, no one wants to see the house that you built collapse.

The thing about Romo is, he always knew he was good enough to win playoff games and even a Super Bowl. He's a guy that plays with a lot of confidence, and now that he's got the gorilla off his back - I expect him to light things up.

This thing is wide open, we beat the Vikings we very well could be hosting the Cards in our house for the conference.

Man it feels good to be contenders again.

If we find a way to pull this off, Romo will be welcomed into that club and I think all these old players will puff their chests up a little when talking about romo.

guys like dixon edwards and alvin harper who said this team has no one worth watching never will, but the big names who are in the media all the time will.

Romos personality will turn him into one of the most beloved players ever to play here if they can pull this off.

and emmitt in his suite the last two games has been helping get the crowd pumped. He is a fan right now like all of us. He did an interview with kristie scales before the game saturday night and referred to himself as a butt hole for his prediction and how he was wrong, he repeatedly called himself an butt hole for doing it!

Irvin cracked on Emmitt about being in Jerry's box. "So, it's you and Jerry, huh?" lol

I never thought Emmitt was a "hater", either. I just thought the disappointment from the last couple of seasons had worn on him (like some of the posters on here) and he figured he'd lowball his prediction and if he was wrong, then great (b/c it meant they were winning)! I never doubted he bled blue n silver for a minute!

Emmitt said something funny.

I want the Cowboys to go down to Miami and win the super bowl while me and Charles Haley walk across the stage.

The crowd went ape **** nuts everytime they showed 22 in the box. He had this look like he was just so excited for us and him. It was great!

Yeah, I heard that too.

It was almost as funny as Emmitt Smith saying "The Son of a Preacher Man" was one of the songs he danced too on Dancing with the Stars :laugh2: .

I listened to it yesterday and you could tell the guy is so proud of the Cowboys. He spoke about it with such a pride yesterday that you'd think he was still playing for the team.

His prediction wasn't made out of hating Dallas or anything. He just thought we were missing leadership and stuff and they've proven him wrong and you could tell no one is happier than he is to be wrong.

Man I really love Emmitt. I miss him. He was the heart and soul of this Dallas team for so many years. One thing about Emmitt is that he speaks from his heart. Unlike Aikman, who speaks from a scripted narrative given to him by his broadcasting bosses.

And if I'm paying you $750,000 to follow that scripted narrative you would too. How can anybody not understand that Troy will always be a Cowboy, he still lives in Dallas, but he has a job to do.

Let him do it.

All is forgiven Emmitt. Welcome home! :D

Never should of been a case that all is forgiven. Emmitt said what he said, big deal. He was wrong. Just like I am sure some of us were wrong in our expectations as well. It happens.

Troy has to be biased. He goes out there with the Cowboys on his sleeve like Irvin, He won't be on that "A-team" as they call it on Fox. Just like with Emmitt, he had a job to do. And did it. This team was no where near what they are now last year or in this past off season. They have suprised the crap outta me.

Thank god to be mistaken about them. Glad I was.

i love Emmitt.. my favorite player of all-time, and my hero growing up..

Emmitt is a big time Cowboys supporter but you can't blame him for those earlier predictions based on the way the team finished the year in 2008.
