Who know maybe the tendinitis was a precursor to the rupture. Hard to say and IANAD, but I know enough to know when one limb is not right the other gets hurt more due to overcompensating, or he was just using the phantom injury as a crutch.

You are correct, It is a precursor to rupture.

He's a press corner that was brought in by Rob Ryan. He was not a zone corner. He was really good for a rookie and had a nice rookie season because in Rob Ryan's scheme he could press and jam the WR at the LOS by using his long arms. We moved to more of a zone corner scheme and his tackling is atrocious and he really doesn't quite have the feel for zone coverage. He couldn't use the jam at the LoS as much which is his best strength. Combine that with injuries, it's what happens.

He's a classic case for being against trading up. Not only do injuries happen, but if your scheme is changed by a coaching change, that player you coveted and paid to move up may no longer fit your scheme. That and I would rather have zone corners...bigger market of those guys out there and it saves you money in the end.

Like a few others here, really pulling for the guy this year. I remember commenting last year how aggressive he was at camp, especially against the Raiders in the scrimmages we had. Starting fights, playing beyond the whistle. Was like he was trying to prove he was tough enough.
I really hope he has finally got the mental side down, and that his body will let him play.
Think about this - if Claiborne can and does make that turnaround and becomes a player this year, that will free up either Jones or White to concentrate on FS, where we know we are lining up a SS right now. We could worry about what to do with Claiborne after the season, but getting a FS now instead of playing 2 SS would be huge for us .....

As far as I can remember, he was grabby, and he'd get pushed around in press by big WRs. I don't recall him lagging in breaks.

But Mo has always looked good in camps. People like to bag on him, but his real issues are with health and, when he's hobbled, confidence.
If Riley Cooper is abusing you, then you are injured or not an NFL cb.

I never thought Mo was the man. I didn't like the pick either. I thought everyone knew something I didn't. But hey it is what it is.

Being grabby helps torque to make up from being slow out of a break or turn. Leverage does what it does.

One of the ligaments in his good knee apparently was 80% gone or something. That amount of damage likely caused all kinds of problems. As many sprains and tears as he gets I worry that he has that allele that leads to poor tensile strength and stability in ligaments.

I often thought Mo's issues were mental. He just doesn't seem football smart. Maybe he doesn't watch enough film or he doesn't know how to watch film. But it seems that the game mentally overwhelms him and then his confidence plummets.
