Did Dez Disappear?

Dez was great tonight, for about 1/4 of the game...

Then on the Romo INT, he made a pretty halfass attempt to tackle Revis, and if he tackles him at the 45, then maybe they don't make that FG... I guess he was cramping, whatever, he needs to be in better shape than that, and we need him making those plays throughout the game...

Eventually Dez has to escalate from showing flashes, to being the dominant player that he's capable of being...

He shouldn't have even been on the field. The way he was hopping from his stance tells everyone hamstring problem.

Uh bruised quad after the punt return. So yeah I guess he's a bum. Jeez...

I always wondered how Revis "shuts down" good receivers.

Last night I found out.

He ignores the 5 yard rule and just grabs them all the way down the field.
How is it that this guy gets away with this and other corners get called for defensive holding is one hand is on the receiver after 5 yards.

It reputation. Its amazing that he doesnt have to play by the same rules as everyone else.

Now you know why recivers in the late 1990s and beyond have such massively better stats than recievers before that. Before the rules were changed, every WR dealt with being grabbed / jostled / etc up and down the field -- many for just about every passing play of their career.

I saw the the whole game too. Even Cromatie was getting grabby. I guess on 9/11 the jets couldn't get any penalties.

Revis shut down dez bryant on a bum wheel. Dez had more chances to abuse revis his body just wouldn't let him. Just like on the over throw romo threw to him. Dez had a step on revis (even as revis tugs his jersey while running with dez).

So dez got injured on the punt return? This is why he should not have been returning any punts or kicks. We need him more on offense. Now when we needed him most, he was too injured to really perform.

Revis is a VERY good corner, but he is well known for his contact. I thought Dez was solid for the time he wasn't hurt. In short, Dez looked unfazed by the reputation of Revis, Cromartie or any other Jets player. He did a fine job, and trying to lay blame on him for Romo's INT, lack of tackling, or whatever is misplaced.

You're right. Lets cut him for being injured.

It's worse in person. Revis has hand fulls of jersey on EVERY play. On the play where Romo fumbled trying to score, he was looking for Dez in the corner but Revis was holding like it was his job and Romo improvised.

Obviously he should have just thrown it away, but we it should have been def holding and automatic 1st down

I hope it's worth having Dez returns punts so he can get hurt. Oh wait, people rarely get hurt on kick returns.

:laugh2: He was throwing Revis around and jumping in his grill talking ****. :lmao2: I think he spooked Revis. I bet Revis has never had anyone not only talk to him like that, but physically throw his *** around like that! :lmao2:

Dez!

Why put him on punt returns? He's too valuable to this team now!!

Also the guy needs to learn to control himself and not burn up so much energy in the first quarter of a game. If he will contorl himself he can be the most dominant WR in the game.

Dez couldn't run. He was at best 60% after his injury. That was painfully obvious. That AND going against a good CB like Revis makes it impossible.

I think he can return punts, but it should be a selectively. Specifically in close games. He is definitely a game changer as a returner.

The injury is the only thing that stopped him. His last 3 quarters would've equaled the 1st if not for that.

Yeah it really wasn't just that INT play. They should have reconized that Dez couldn't go, before the first quarter was over, and pulled him long before that. He was much more of a liability after he hurt his quad than anything else.

It's sad to because he started out like he was just going to dominate the game.

As long as he didn't further injure himself while playing on it, I'm fine with him staying out there. Why? He occupied Revis the whole game.

And so it happened.

Yeah it is called Football. Philly continues to put Jackson back there why because he is damn good at it.

I rarely watch Jets games, but even in highlights, I've always thought Revis got away with a ton of bumping and grabbing down the field. Last night when they showed him all over WRs well outside the 5-yard margin, I was telling my buddies , "That's the way they used to let you cover."

Thing is, you're not supposed to be able to do that anymore.
