At this point I'm losing any hope that he will ever be anything...he's sold as a receiving TE and we have no outside threats...I am not sure what other conclusion to come to other than he can't play.
thats why u dont waste second round draft picks on basically a blocking TE.
He can't block. He's a vertical threat TE who can't get vertical.
Jimmy Graham can't block either. Think he's had a pretty good career.
But Jimmy Graham has size and can catch the ball. Jimmy Graham is bigger, has better hands, and is more physical. He also runs better routes.
Escobar has size, athleticism, and good hands. His route running has improved. When he's gotten opportunities he's made plays.
He's had 22 receptions for 263 yards in 3 years. Graham had over 200 receptions for over 2500 yards and 25 touchdowns in his first 3 years. He isn't Jimmy Graham.
Did I say he was Graham? No, but Escobar definitely has the skills to be a productive TE in this league if we actually use him. Graham has gotten a lot more opportunities. This looks like another Marty B situation.
I agree and as I said in another thread is that as long as Weeden is QB this will continue until Romo returns no way the final score would've been 39-28 and the Cowboys held scoreless in the second half if Romo is out there case in point the Falcons didn't respect Weeden.Like I said in the Street thread, you can't judge a receiver or TE with Weeden at QB. Weeden threw to Witten because he is Witten. He threw short passes to Beasley and the RBs. No one else really got a chance. Williams dropped a couple, but those were his only chances. Escobar was coming along with Romo at the helm. I'm afraid he may lose all confidence getting absolutely no targets at all.
