Honestly, I didn't watch him carefully, what do you think?
Talking about left guard.
Honestly, I didn't watch him carefully, what do you think? left guard, not back up QB.
It didn't hit me that we have 4 1st rounders on that line.......granted, Cooper hasn't played like one and Collins was projected to be one. Essentially 5 1st rpunders.Goodness.
Thing is, Cooper can be a pretty good player for us. We got him on the cheap and he has talent. He was expected to be the centerpiece of the line when he was drafted and injuries kept him from becoming that, now that he is on his second or third chance he can just play and follow the lead of our studs. He had several excellent blocks today playing within the system.
He earned the job 2 weeks ago and was good today.Honestly, I didn't watch him carefully, what do you think? left guard, not back up QB.
I expect for him to be. Its going to take some time for him to get some consistency but it wouldn't shock me one bit if he ends up being a solid starter here.
They had Green play LT in the 4th quarter.
Cooper is really, really good at turning guys to his right. It's kinda odd how good he is at it. And he was good getting to the 2nd level in this game. Had some issues blocking smaller, quicker defenders before today.
Still has some pass pro hand technique issues to clean up on.
Big thing I'm seeing is we got out of using 12 personnel so much as well. All that did was not scare defenses throwing the ball and Hanna hasn't blocked well this year. Now we use more 11 personnel which scares team throwing the ball and then we go to some 21 personnel which is working better in the run game than the 12 personnel.
