Did Randy Moss Really say this?

anyway this is whats said in the match up between Dallas and Oakland.

After all the hype and all the hope, I'm guessing the hard, cold reality has set in for Randy Moss: "I'm with a loser. This team isn't going anywhere and I've still got to listen to Warren Sapp babble on in the locker room for another 13 weeks." And speaking of inconsequential Raiders acquisitions, maybe LaMont Jordan really is a No. 2 running back.

Does anyone know if Randy Moss actually said this? I take it as he did considering its in quotes which normally means it was quoted from the player but with todays journalism you never know thats why I'm asking? If he did I'd stay away from WS if I where him, and what an idiot he is throwing your team like that. and if he did it just makes me more happy we DIDN"T draft him.

I haven't heard anything about this. I'm sure if he said it the media would be making a much bigger deal out of it, so I assume that the writer is just saying what he thinks Moss must be thinking right now

If he did I'm sure it was said to be sarcastic and probably was in response to media speculation about him and the team. I somehow think that this would've been headline news on all the sport shows had he said this with a straight face.

See I took this like Moss said this (what was quoted) and the writer took it like "so I'm guessing the cold reality has set in for him" then put the quote in to justify what he had said.

I guess it could go either way. Moss could have said it and the writer took it like, the reality has set in on him. or as you say that the writer is assuming what Moss is thinking.

That's a bad article if he didn't say it. I'm guessing he didn't say it in the media or else the media would be playing it up big-time.

Banks has a lot of sources so perhaps he said it to someone off-the-record or someone told Banks he said it in private or he's complaining already.

Doubt he actually said it. Per SI,

Turner admitted this week that Moss goes half-speed on some plays, but the Raiders insist Moss is not frustrated by the double coverage and lack of touches. It's hard to know for sure because Moss has not talked to the media since after the season opener against New England on Sept. 8.

You're almost certainly correct on this.

And if so, what a case of poor journalism. That's an inexcusable use of quotation marks.
