Did the chiefs select the better player 20 picks later?

I mean honestly that’s amazing value to get a tackle like him that late. Guy easily coulda been top 5 pick if not for an injury and we draft a guy who can only play guard. He could’ve been our left or right tackle and even coulda played right guard this year if you wanted.
Patella tendon injury.
Concerns about mental makeup.
26 penalties in college.
33" arms (shorter than coaches/scouts perfer for OT, especially LT).

And he's driving guys into the ground with ease

There is always that chance, but Booker is top rated for guard and he is not dealing with an injury. I don't question that pick, especially after watching his welcome press conference.
This exactly. He's the leader of their culture change. He's much like Travis Frederick, but at a different position.

Sharp as a tack, too.

I know a guy, who many fans behind keyboards said would go early in first day, who went on the 3rd day because of exactly what you are saying.

Booker, in my mind and not at first mind you but after a little more research and watching for myself, was the perfect pick at #12.
Yeah, same. I'll be honest, I didn't expect a guard, so none were really on my radar unless someone else here pointed them out.

So I hadn't really looked at Booker. Great player. Safe pick. That's what you do. The player with the highest hit rate.

I guess if you wanted to really gamble you take chances on all three top picks. But man would that be more chancey.

1 OT Simmons
2 DE Green
3 CB Revel

No. More than likely. That injury he had is bad. He might never be himself again.Might still be decent, but he will have challenges. Let's just be happy we got our guy. He's damn bloody good. In his own right. Plus, Simmons is a tackle. Booker is a pure guard.

Simmons is a good left tackle prospect but between that patella injury and the fact he is not an elite tackle athlete, he was drafted correctly at the end of the first. I don’t care what Broaddus allegedly heard about his medicals. I believe the kid will start out on the PUP list. That is the last thing we would want to hear about our 1st round pick.
Exactly. It's an extremely challenging injury to come back from. We needed a dog, day 1. We got one. I'm fine with our guy.

If you are complaining about Booker you will complain about anything. Broaddus called out his cohost the other day about it. The Cowboys got better after the draft. That was my only concern.

Well said. The complaints have been borderline ridiculous. Absurd. Almost any adjective works lol.
I was listening to a YouTube podcast a couple of weeks before the draft. The host said the Cowboys biggest weakness the last few years that nobody talks about was the offensive line. He brought up 2021 playoff home loss to the 49ers and what stood out to him was Tyron and Martin where getting their butts kicked by the 49ers front seven. Everyone wanted to blame Dak and Zeke for that loss but San Francisco’s defense whipped our best linemen. The Cowboys need a full retool of both offensive and defensive lines before we worry about a second receiver.

Nailed it. That's all true. I been saying this also on this forum. It starts in the trenches. Nothing else matters if this isn't better.

This is so true. That same line also gave Dak way too much time in the playoffs against GB which allowed him to find DBs left and right with ease.

Instead of Simmons, the other Ohio state Lineman Donovan Jackson might be the best option. Very good OG but he also moved over to play OT when Josh Simmons went down with the injury and he did well at that spot as well.
Love Booker but doubt that he would ever thrive at OT.

I will ask the same question asked before: Would the Chiefs have selected Simmons at 12? It's highly doubtful.
