Let me start by saying today was one of the better days of my life. Never being in Texas this was a full circle moment for me being a Cowboys fan. The tour guide said he would take a little over an hour, and that most people usually stay another hour to tool around the field and lockerooms.

I stayed nearly 5 hours.

What a stadium. I know some think it's more of a tourist attraction then a football environment, but please, if you live in Texas, appreciate it. I would say Fenway was probably the coolest stadium I've been to besides this because of its history, but there's nothing like AT&T. The first thing I said as my cab approached was HOLY you know what.

What I got for those who haven't done it: pics with two gorgeous cheerleaders, cheerleader autographs, time on the field and lockerooms, including practice squad players, time in the suites, a walk around the stadium to view it's art (I hate art and its art is cool) as well as time in the media room. Definitely went to the podium and said "how we doing guys." I don't have the host sites to post a ton of pics, but if you haven't gone before, my facebook picture describes it all. What a great, great day. Go Cowboys!

Glad you had a good tour. I know the stadium tour saved my last trip to Dallas. Wish you could post pics to imugr or another host. Facebook fail.

I love that place.

Just needs a little more time and some history

Yeah, I live in Vancouver, Canada, so it was amazing when I got a chance to go a couple years ago to the Pittsburgh game and check out the field the Saturday before the game. Just an amazing experience. So good that I tried my hardest to come back, and went back with my good buddy who was a Niners fan to week 1 this year. It was even more fun because he was more athletic than the original guy I went with, and we had a blast for hours throwing the football around on the cowboys field. We had so many videos of us throwing tds in the end zone, seeing how far we can bomb the ball (well, our 'bombs' were only 45 yards or so but still!). That open field was for the day after the loss, so salvaged the trip for me!

And of course the building itself is a marvel. When you see it coming up when approaching on the hwy.... because there are no tall buildings near by, it just looks enormous. The way the light struck the windows that morning..... it was beautiful.

I'd highly recommend it to any cowboys fan from out of town. Heck, as much as I hate that it isn't a home team advantage, I'd recommend it to any opposing fan to check out their team. The people I met in dallas were super nice both times, the food quality is amazing (as good Canada imo, can't say that for every us city I've been too), there are other fun things to do around the city and the weather is usually great. But nothing beats taking photos in Jerry's suite (and washing your hands in his sink!), looking inside the lockeroom and running from that player tunnel entrance out to the field the first time!

I really hope you brought a ball and threw it around on the field. It's the most awesome feeling and gives you a great perspective of what the players see.

I've always been curious about these tours. When do they happen? I think it'd be worth the trip from Austin!

I admit I was equally impressed when I came down from Nebraska for my first game there and then did the tour the following day, from that point on I would tell everyone going for the first time to the stadium to take the tour, nothing like seeing areas regular fans wouldn't get to see normally or to stand on the field in awe.

Does anyone know if I could take my 8 year old boy with me? How much are tickets?

Yeah, there isn't an age restriction. The tickets are around $15 per person for the self guided tour and field access I think, and $25ish for VIP tour before field access which I'd really recommend. If you search the cowboys website for VIP tours they have a whole schedule and pricing page. Note, not all home games have on field access (if for example there are scheduling conflicts)

I'm moving out west in about 6 months, and a stop there is definitely on my to-do list. I've been there once before, and boy what a sight it is. That place is massive, and stepping on the field was a lot of fun.
