Did TO score or was knee down?

I lost 12 points because of that call in my fantasy league (TO + Romo) and I lost my first game by 1.5 points :(

I thought the refs would review but it looks like the refs are so sure cowboys would score anyway, they didn't care :)

I was watching the games with some friends who are NOT cowboys fans and even they said that the officiating was biased. They agreed TO did not have pass interference, the hit on Romo was head to head, TO DID score and there was a couple others that I can't seem to remember right now... oh yeah and last night there was a horse collar in the Minnesota game that wasn't called because the tackler wasn't named Roy Williams or wear a star on his helmet.

Honestly, that one is on Wade and his staff. He needed to let the playclock run down to 1 and call a timeout there. That is a booth review situation and if you give them a commercial break to figure it out they are at least going to review the play.

The "scored anyway" angle is silly. What if we didn't get in? You can't leave points on the field like that, even if you get it back on the next play.

Why wasn't there a booth review?
Because why credit Romo and Owens with a TD if the officials on the field said it wasn't a TD.

If Favre throws that pass, it gets reversed.

I think he was in.

When I saw the replay during the game I didn't think he made it but I downloaded the game and just took another look and I think he did make it.

I thought his knee went down and he fell over on it but it wasn't.

I was shocked that they didn't review it. Its almost a play where I think you have to but for some reason or another they didn't.

Combine that with the worst offensive pass interference call in the history of the game and I really hope Wade has a few words for Mike Periera this week.

Hey where did you download the game? Agree. Looked like he scored to me. And refs screw up, too.

no doubt he scored...rediculous it wasnt reviewed.

I agree and under 2:00 in the half all plays are reviewed by the review booth.

After the 2-minute warning of each half, and in overtime, reviews can only take place if the replay assistant, who sits in the press box and monitors the network broadcast of the game, determines that a play needs review; coaches may not challenge during these times.

I think they should have called timeout too, but in all fairness to Wade, there was plenty of time for the booth to see that needed to be reviewed w/o a timeout. They blew it upstairs.

In my son's fantasy league he had Romo as his QB and was playing a guy who had Barber as his RB. Needless to say he was very upset it wasn't reviewed. I told my son that's why I don't play fantasy football. That kind of thing would really tick me off.

As for the real game, I totally agree with those who say Wade messed up by not demanding a review and calling a time out if necessary to get the review. You don't assume you will score on the next play. Too many strange things can happen. When you score points you do anything and everything to make certain the refs give you the points you earned.

I don't think he scored. His left elbow touched the ground before the ball crossed the goal line. Last I remember, an elbow down is equivalent to a knee down.

TO scored, the replay didn't review because i guess they assumed we would just score the next play. Sometimes being good is a curse.

They didn't have time to show the reverse angle. If they did, we'd know that he's one TD ahead of Cris Carter.

they did blow it -- but there is no reason not to call a timeout to help them get it right. Dumb move by Wade - I've noted in several other threads that he doesn't work the refs well and this is just another example of it.

His left elbow may have touched the ground before stretching for the goal line.

I agree Wade should have called timeout. But It should have been obvious enough to the guys in the booth that it was close to a touchdown and they should take a look at it.

Often, on a play like this, I see the refs say that there will be a booth review almost as soon as the replay is shown and definitely before the next play is run. So, I was a little confused as to why nothing happened once Marion scored.

And we were lucky to score on the next play imo, because sometimes, especially to this team, that would have been the perfect time for a fumble to happen and for cleveland to score a touchdown on their next drive.

I think Wade should have called a time out if he truly thought that TO scored on the play. It is possible that the coaches in the booth saw a replay and told Wade that TO was down. That part we don't know.

If Wade was going to call a time out, then it would have been called pretty fast. There would be no reason to let the play clock get down to 1 in that situation because the game clock would also be ticking off as well.

I thought he should call the time out because calling the time out does not hurt in that situation. They still had 3 timeouts at the time. If after calling the time out the officials decide to review the play then Dallas would get their timeout back. I don't think it was a huge error not to call the time out. It is just what I would do.

Looking at that picture, his left elbow does not appear to be on the ground yet and we can't see where the ball it - regardless, still surprised there was no review -- that's really damn close either way

It was a TD.

If that play was in the middle of the field, there is no way that they would have marked that ball where he did....it was ridiculous.
