Did Ware have a sack today?

I could have sworn I saw him have a clean sack with no other player even in on the tackle but he box score on NFL.com shows him with no sacks.

called back for illegal contact on Abe Elam

He was about to destroy Moore, but Long tackled him after getting beat. Long was called for holding.

Does anyone keep track of "holdings drawn"?
They need to add that to the category because Ware is a beast

Ware dominated today. He is not just a pash rusher, guy is a complete LB, and you can't talk top 5 total defensive players without mentioning his name.

The cleanest "sack" he got was on the fumble recovery, but because Moore never had possession of the ball, it wasn't a sack.

He would have had Moore if not for Long grabbing him for a holding call, and he had his only sack wiped out by Elam's illegal contact (although there were several players around the QB when Ware got him on that play).

He would have had a sack if not for that questionable PI call on Elam.

Ware should have had 3 sacks today, but he was still a beast and the best player on D.

I could not believe how often he was triple teamed. Unbeleivable.

He would have killed Moore on the play that Long simply tackled him from behind to keep him from getting the sack.

Ware did everything he needed to and could today despite not getting any sacks.

In fact they seemed to pay him so much attention that Anthony Spencer actually appeared to be getting some good pressure through out the game.

I must not have been paying attention. I don't agree with any of that :laugh2:

I thought Spencer was better than Ware today, and it looked to me like the Fins LT stonewalled Ware one-on-one A LOT. That's why he was moving all over the LOS in the 2nd half.

Spencer had better stats (more tackles and 3 big stops behind LOS), and he was in the backfield a lot, but Ware was everywhere - his coverage on Bush is the difference between a TD and FG, his fumble recovery was due to being in the backfield faster than anyone - if Moore catches that shotgun snap that would have been a sack, and Long was grabbing him all game when they were one on one (only one was blatant).

If not for all the double and triple teams that Ware saw, other guys would not have had their opportunities, that includes Spencer. There is a reason why Ware got Simm's Iron Man award - even the fans polled could see that.

So if Reggie Bush finishes running his route and makes that catch Spencer had the better game?

Ware played pretty well, but Spencer was better today.

His all around game gets better and better every year.

That's the great thing about DeMarcus Ware. He doesn't have to actually get sacks to have an impact on football games.

Yes, extremely questionable. Not sure what the penalty count / breakdown was. But we had way too many false starts for a home game, or any game. I think it was 5. But there were quites a few defensive holding calls too.
