Did we finally find our Charles Haley?

And we still would've lost because we couldn't stop anyone.

Seriously, why do you guys think more O is always the answer? The unstoppable O's have always lost in the playoffs.
People LOVE offense, and we have a potentially AWESOME one (if healthy). Our weakness is playcalling in the RZ, but the key for us is DEFENSE, and the alterations we’ve made in the off-season SHOULD lead to better days.

Haley had legit mental issues. I'm glad Parsons isn't like that.

I necessarily get a Dick Butkus or Ray Lewis vibe, more like a young golden retriever who has so much energy and enthusiasm he can't sit still.

Which is great, because sometimes these prototype athlete types fail because no matter how big or fast they are, they're only doing it for the check and they don't love the game. Parsons seems to really love what he's doing. Loved the scene where he was practically begging to go back in the meaningless HOF game.

in 1992 Charles Haley had 6 sacks. In 1993 he had 4.

Those two Super Bowls combined you outscored the Bills by 62 points. Ringless without Haley? You can’t really believe that
How many pressures and fumbles did he create?
How about the double teams he faced opening up lanes for the rest of our players???

Maybe this was more about attitude than style of play, but Parson's will not be used like Haley. If he has a similar impact it will be in a different role. I hope he does have that kind of impact though, but I think I would want to see him play a little before putting that on him.

Parsons is an animal. Cant believe we got him. Best defensive player in the draft. EXACTLY what this defense needed.

Anyone still out there that still would have taken Pitts over Parsons for THIS team?
Parsons was rated as the top defensive player leading up to the draft. Most projections had him being picked by Detroit or perhaps Denver. But once the draft started, the run on offensive players getting picked plus the unexpected choice of Carolina selecting Horn dumped Parsons right in the Cowboys lap.

He's an alpha .......exactly what this team needs
Good. we desperately need an alpha on the defense. We need some nastiness and attitude on defense. We don't need any Bipolar on the defense. So I hope he brings everything to the table besides unmedicated Bipolar disorder.

Yes I do. You had to keep the other teams Defense off the field to score of those points. How do you not know this. Even Troy Aikman said it. We don’t get those rings without Him. He was the difference beating San Francisco to even get to play buffalo
Haley was obviously a great player, he's in the HOF. But let's not act like he took over the NFCCG and dominated the 9ers. In 3 NFCCG against SF, he had 1 sack. I think it was more his attitude that his actual production that put us over the top.

Yes I read pearlmans book I’m well aware of Haley’s antics and how crazy they were I guess I meant more of a 2021 version of Haley lol. Either way I’m excited to see the impact he’s gonna make

only had one sack big deal. It’s about pressure breaking up plays He was the difference maker. I’m remember One play he missed the tackle. He looked over to the sidelines at Jimmy. And he got that sack you’re talking about.

Remember, it is not just Parsons.

It's both Parsons and Chauncy Golston.

Thank you Philly.

Wouldn't it be great if Golston turned out to be a similar version of Michael Bennett?

For some reason, I'm getting flashbacks to 1979 when Celtics GM Red Auerbach traded Center Joe Barry Carroll to Golden State for this center named Robert Parish and a draft pick. That draft pick turned out to be Kevin McHale - and as they say - the rest is history. This was one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history. A mediocre center traded for two Hall of Famers.

You better believe I'm routing for Golston just as much as I'm routing for Parsons!

The Cowboys found their Charles Haley. His name was Charles Haley.

He played for the Cowboys.

i don’t know about y’all but after watching hard knocks and seeing Parsons I def got a Charles Haley vibe both personality and play style.

Any of y’all feel the same?
I hope that the kid is not legitimately crazy like Haley.

Honestly....We've had the Haley clone for a while in Lawrence....problem is....our dumb *** defensive coordinators are all hell bent on playing him on the left side. He was a game wrecker here @ Boise St. playing on the right side. Leave it to Cowboy coaches for ruining another career. :(

I remember a story I heard about Haley when he was with the 49ers. He was offered a contract and pooped on the contract and walked out. I had 2 thoughts. 1, apparently he did not want to sign the contract, maybe a simple "no thanks" would have been good. 2, that's amazing he can just poop on command like that.
