Donovan Wilson...

Knew nothing about him until someone put in article in here about some 7th round pick with best preseason grades. Then I went and did what most here do and go to the youtubez. Ya I know, highlight films only highlight the best and can give false impressions. But, this kid seems like a lot more than just a good highlight reel. His emotion and the way his team seems to crowd around him, really stood out. Then you hear him in interviews and he just sounds like a kid from the block who just loves to play the game. He's not scared to get in there and bust some heads and celebrates it. I feel like he just loves the game, and those are my favorite players. To me he has that IT factor...and I would be surprised if he's not starting early in the season. I just feel like this good kid from the swamps is gonna be dangerous and be considered to be one of our many draft day steals.

I know it's early and just preseason, but does anyone else feel this way for Wilson?

Hope so. I remember hearing that he was just a thumper like Kavon Frazier but then in the Draft Zone there was an article referenced that said he played some CB in college. I didn't think he really looked that big to be labeled a box Safety so I was not a fan but now he is showing a lot more coverage skills than I thought he had.

He should be a good partner in crime with Xavier Woods. I've seen enough Jeff Heath.

. I think William Maclay has been nothing less than brilliant. What a difference young Talent brings. We were the youngest starting team in the League last season. I believe third youngest overall. Second round of the playoffs was priceless Imagine The Experience alone. Go Cowboys

When you make an athletic play like he did on that INT. I do not care if it was in a PS game against 3rd team players. To come across the field like that to make that play. You have something in you as a play maker, and gives the coaches a lot to work with. Nothing but upside.
Now some will say, yeah but one play does not mean a thing, it's their nature to think that way. I look at it the other way. But it has to start somewhere, and that as well as some other plays is some encouragement. Hopefully he develops into that player we been wanting for so long.

We need to see him against starters but front office is proving that they don’t need to use premium picks on the safety position yet again.

He has two picks in preseason.

Meanwhile, Byron......

Byron just came off of PUP, been getting worked back in.
So you going to start on that stuff when Byron has not even played, and will not play the last PS game.

You could have left it at the 2 picks part.

I certainly like what I have both seen and heard. My only concern is whether or not the team would give him the opportunity to replace Jeff Heath on the field?

To answer the question....YES!

This guy will be a starter by season’s end.

Look where they got Woods, Wilson, Heath, Brown, and Frazier.

That is scouting.
Exactly. Good take on this one, erod.

Again, excited about the kid, but tempered expectations. He’ll make the team, but how will he respond after preseason, which is the equivalent to JUCO NFL?

I didnt see this at his game footage in A&M.he had some really bad games with bad penalties and his angles to the ball carrier was Jeff Heath level,i am glad he has improved so much under Richard.

I'm not a Wilson believer after watching his A&M tape. His regression was major.

But he sure has impressed in the preseason games.

I'm talking about Byron since he got here.

He can't buy an interception.
