To bring about change...REAL change?
I'm not talking about signing aging players on the cheap or bringing Nolan down from his box to get a closer look at the garbage he is responsible for. I'm talking about actual firings. No more proven loser coordinators, no more unaccountability, no more culture of excuses. I'm not delusional enough to think Jerry cares more about wins than he does ratings, and maybe that's why we need this type of loss. It's one thing to have a bad team (us) play a marginally worse team (Giants) and you still get ratings because it's a shootout, but tonight was quite a different story. This was borderline unwatchable.
There is no reason to think any game going forward will be any different for us this year on present path. There is no superstar to carry a mediocre team to even make it interesting as was the case during some of Garrett's years. After tonight, there is zero hope for this season with present personnel. Outside of we fans who can't help but expose ourselves to the pain and gnashing of the teeth, people will tune out in droves. I can only assume that was why son and daddy were standing at the end as if it were a game-winning drive. Last week Jerry made an excuse for everyone with his "adjust our expectations" statement. But that was before this embarrassment.
I know I should probably know better after all these years, but...hey, wishful thinking is all I've got now.
