Did you catch what James Harrison said about Orton getting popped?

There are those amongst us who have long complained that the Cowboys are full of a talented bunch of "nice" guys...that are happy to win a playoff game instead of desperate to win a Super Bowl. Last week when Church got slammed to the turf by Phillp Rivers while returning a fumble, there was a small fraction of us who groaned that Spencer should have hit Rivers into the upper deck. MANY said, it is pre-season, no big deal. Fast Forward to last night...and what Kyle Orton got from James Harrison when returning a fumble. THIS is what this team LACKS. You cannot wait until someone pushes you to push back. We have been on the cusp of greatness for a few years now, and I am not sure there is enough "edge" in this coaching staff/core group of players...that will EVER get us there.

I think it is more of a respect thing. If romo broke is arm is pre season because Harrison wanted to prove a point than I would of Lenord Davis would go whip his *** after it. Pre season is not a real season its just a time to evaluate the rookies and kind of get back in the groove.

I understand where you're coming from to a certain degree. But it was this same Steelers team, with all their growling, angry words and "shock and awe" that got absolutely worked at the end of last season.

But I understand, we certainly didn't see any fire or brimstone from this team this past weekend, when they were getting pushed all over the field and getting earfuls of smack from Houston players. At some point, preseason or no, you've got to man up.

Harrison is a big time steroid user. Anger and hate are always an issue with those guys. James Harrison will probably end up just like Chris Benoit.

During the Houston game, I was heading back to the TV from the kitchen after a commercial break. The wife got in my way and the kids were actually touching the remote!!!

I was a little pissed, but did not say much.

Now if this was during the regular season, my wife would have been knocked on her back side and the kids would have been locked in their room for a week.

It's just hard sometimes to get up for the preseason games as much as you try!

I am sure the same can be said for Spencer.:)

I agree with Harrison and wish we had a few of those enforcer type players. Don't get me wrong, I don't want dirty/ illegal hits but want someone like Haley used to be. If you are thinking it is only preseason as you run down the field in a live game, it seems to me that you are thinking to much. I would think as soon as the ball is snapped you would go into full warrior mode. Just like this weeks game after every tackle our guy is helping the other player up, save the nice guy stuff for before and after the game. Intimidation and fear are part of the game, Spencer could have sent a "legal" message to all QBs through Rivers but played the nice guy card.

Steelers have 2 Super Bowls in the last 5 years...and the talent on BOTH of those teams is INFERIOR to the talent in Dallas. Especially that team that beat the Seahwaks. If you recall, that was the same Seahawk team that "beat" us in round 1. A game where the Cowboys REFUSED to WIN!!!! Listen, the excuses need to STOP for this outfit. The criticisms of other organizations need to stop. It is NOT about James Harrison. It is about a culture where a team plays with a nastiness and anger that never dies, win or lose. We smile to much, laugh to much, relax to much, "get them next time" to much. I love Dallas...I really do. But I want to win...and the 90s Cowboys were obsessed with winning. The current version of the Cowboys seemed to be enamored to be playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

You're relatively easy going during the regular season. I lock my family up down in the basement's iron madden Friday evening about 8pm and they aren't allowed back out until Tuesday at 6am. They appreciate it much more when the Cowboys lose than they do when the Cowboys win as it's less painful for them being locked up when the Cowboys lose. :laugh2:

I am with you...I have never seen a team so EAGER to help a guy up that just "trucked" them or a guy they tackled. Are you kidding? I mean are you kidding!

So if I've got this right, you want to trade Ware for Harrison?

Where was that said anywhere? I want Harrison type behind Ware pushing him to be more aggressive. Dont start to sack the QB and nicely lay him on the ground, pick his sorry butt up and slam him down.

And why was this moved. Was very much Cowboy related, in a off kinda way.

I'm guessing because it was basically about the way Harrison plays with a sprinkle of Cowboys in it.

did you hear me say that? But since you brought it up, as the Cornerstone of the franchise...as the face of the franchise...as the highest paid player on the team...it is HIS respobsibility to help set the tone for this team. So NO, I don't want to trade him. But when an outfit continues to underachieve, NO one can escape blame.

I said it the day we did it and I will repeat it now...giving 50M to a guard not named Larry Allen really rubbed me the wrong way. And I honestly think Jerry was convinced that Davis was going to play tackle for him when either Flo or Columbo were done. I really don't think Jerry spent that with the thought of ONLY playing Davis at guard. He has been average..and it is getting worse. I don't care how many Pro Bowl votes he gets. These high priced players need to put FEAR in the opponents and create a culture in the lockeroom that mediocrity will not be tolerated.

Here is the deal. Ware isn't that type of person. So you might as well trade him if that is what you want. Ware isn't going to cheap shot someone the way roid raging Harrison will.

cheap shot? cheap shot? I hope the players are not thinking that as they prepare for the Commanders...whose OL will be going after there knees from the opening whistle. Listen...River flattned Church like he was a high school RB...and that fired his team up. If Spencer sends Rivers into the 3rd row imagine how that would fire OUR team up? Especially on a team that really lacks an emotional leader

Spencer half-***ed his his effort to block Rivers. You can't flatten anyone when you're half-***ing it. Without a doubt, he should have plowed River into the turf if Rivers decided to try and get physical. (and he would have)
