Did you catch what James Harrison said about Orton getting popped?

Spencer half-***ed his his effort to block Rivers. You can't flatten anyone when you're half-***ing it. Without a doubt, he should have plowed River into the turf if Rivers decided to try and get physical. (and he would have)
that is my point...IF....IF...IF Rivers decided to get physical...the mentality is my issue here. When you play the game like a savage beast...which all defensive players should...then you don't wait to hit before you hit. Listen, I am trying not to be critical of our team. Because this is not a revelation to me...this is something I already know about this team. But I am just pointing out the differences in what someone is going to get when they Pitt...and that creates a climate. Have you seen the hits Hines Ward has put on people? This guy is a WR and he has got defensive players with there head on a swivel looking out for him. Rivers stepped up and flattned Church like he was Dick Butkus...whether you or I like it or not....that says something about how we are viewed. I long for the days when people would mysteriosuly show up on the injury list to AVOID playing Larry Allen. Larry was not dirty...just a mean SOB. When you look at Leonard Davis you would think he would give our OL and idenity like Larry Allen did...but this guy doesn't have any swagger himself, so how on earth is he going to pass that off to anyone else along the OL? When Haynesworth stepped on Gurodes face a few years back I was hoping someone on the OL would take a penalty and send a message...you don't mess with Dallas. Again, we are who we are...so I will just leave it alone and wait for the season to start.

our team is a bunch of softy's. anybody notice when Marty B got into that scuffle vs Houston only Barber came over to help? bottom line they gotta get nasty and forget about respect until they earn it. you don't earn respect by being nice in this sport.

When a bank robber gets away with the money, the last thing he should do is call the bank the next day, identify himself, and say, "You're damn right I took the money."

A similar concept applies when a football player apparently gets away with a fairly blatant case of unnecessary roughness.

After recovering a fumble, which eventually was ruled not a fumble, in Sunday night's game between the Steelers and the Broncos, linebacker James Harrison encountered Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton. Orton, not cognizant of the line between bravery and lunacy, tried to tackle Harrison. So Harrison unloaded on Orton. Hard.

"He was running his mouth and getting in the way of the train," Harrison said after the game, per Mike Klis of the Denver Post. "And the train wasn't coming off the track."

If Harrison had said nothing more, we think he'd be fine. It was a rough play, but no one told Orton to get in the way of the train. But then Harrison added a sentence or two that creates the impression that he was trying to injure Orton.

"He was popping off down there the first time they were about to score," Harrison said. "So you run your mouth, expect to get something. Everything's between the lines, so he got what he had coming."

Even though Orton wasn't throwing the ball or otherwise within the protections that apply to quarterbacks, the rules prevent specific instances of unnecessary roughness. Despite the fact that no flag was thrown, Harrison's word could be enough to trigger a letter from the league office informing him that he's getting what he has coming, as in money coming out of his check.

Then there's obviously no reason to root for us and instead root for a bunch of roid raging, cheap shots artists whose QB can't stop sexually assaulting women.

Harrison is a beast. Reminds me of Haley. I wish he was a Cowboy.

Not I. He is a piece of **** of a person. If Karma is real, his Karma train is coming and the only thing that is going to derail is Harrison.

The NFL really needs to get the HGH tests they just created in football. That way his career ends sooner rather than later.

Steelers have 2 Super Bowls in the last 5 years...and the talent on BOTH of those teams is INFERIOR to the talent in Dallas. Especially that team that beat the Seahwaks. If you recall, that was the same Seahawk team that "beat" us in round 1. A game where the Cowboys REFUSED to WIN!!!! Listen, the excuses need to STOP for this outfit. The criticisms of other organizations need to stop. It is NOT about James Harrison. It is about a culture where a team plays with a nastiness and anger that never dies, win or lose. We smile to much, laugh to much, relax to much, "get them next time" to much. I love Dallas...I really do. But I want to win...and the 90s Cowboys were obsessed with winning. The current version of the Cowboys seemed to be enamored to be playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

You know there is a lot of truth in this post. I don't agree with all of it, but in my mind, we are lacking.. something. What it is can be debated.

The NFL had changed a lot, but strength, violence, and passion are still core values.

This has not been an aggressive team the last few years and, and with a couple of exceptions, this has not been a very passionate team either.

Dallas has a lot of players, everywhere no, but not every team in the NFL can be loaded at every spot anymore.

There has to be organizations and coaching staffs that would kill to have our roster.

IMHO this coaching staff has a lot to prove.

Crazy != Vicious.

Haley would hit you and hit you hard, but Haley didn't set out to injury people unless he had a grudge against you. Harrison is intent on injuring anyone he can.

Harrison is a PoS. Haley was just straight up crazy. (bipolar to be exact)

It's funny reading this thread. Rampage and Bill Bailey seem to forget that they pull for the Dallas Cowboys. You honestly think for a second our guys would get away w/ these cheap shots? Let's not duck the name, that is EXACTLY what Harrison did, regardless the fact he felt Orton had it coming to him or not.

Wahhh .... Wahhhh...I wish our guys did that. Wahhhh.... I wish our team had some enforcers that were physical like that. *sniff* *sniff*

Those so called "enforcers" wouldnt play 5 games w/o getting suspended if they were a Cowboy.

Im glad Dallas doesn't have some punk little cheap shot artists running around getting suspended and taking up a roster spot.

Another thing. The rules of the game have changed dramatically since Haley played.

Get out of the 90's already.

There are those amongst us who have long complained that the Cowboys are full of a talented bunch of "nice" guys...that are happy to win a playoff game instead of desperate to win a Super Bowl. Last week when Church got slammed to the turf by Phillp Rivers while returning a fumble, there was a small fraction of us who groaned that Spencer should have hit Rivers into the upper deck. MANY said, it is pre-season, no big deal. Fast Forward to last night...and what Kyle Orton got from James Harrison when returning a fumble. THIS is what this team LACKS. You cannot wait until someone pushes you to push back. We have been on the cusp of greatness for a few years now, and I am not sure there is enough "edge" in this coaching staff/core group of players...that will EVER get us there.

So what did Harrison say about Orton?

I can see that scenario. who do you feel is responsible for us not getting away with things that other players and teams can?
