Jimmys Boys would have never played this poorly in a playoff run!!!
You have to remember, Jimmy Johnson had three elite players at the skilled positions (Aikman - No. 1 pick overall in 1989, Emmitt Smith - No. 17 pick in 1990 and Irvin - No. 1 pick in 1988).
We really don't have many elite players on offense. (Sorry, T.O. can't hold Irvin's jock in terms of preparation, intensity and desire.)
These are the same three that won a Super Bowl virtually without a coach.
Having said that ...
The positives:
1. When we move DeMarcus Ware around he can creat havoc. I wonder why we don't do it more often. Maybe because we're scared teams will take advantage of our other players.
2. Ware was not severely injured.
3. I like the way Romo scans the field. This loss was not on Romo. It was on the offensive line that couldn't handle the Eagles pressure and the receivers who apparently couldn't find much separation.
4. Bobby Carpenter showed some speed out there, even if he didn't get to the quarterback. I think he's going to make major improvements between now and the next year.
5. We get to see the Cowboys the first week of the playoffs. Yes, I like the bye week and the rest it gives our team. But at the same time, I want to see the Cowboys play every week of the playoffs - unless, of course, they lose.
6. If we play the Eagles in the playoffs, I don't think they beat us this decisively. It's hard beating a team three times in a row.
7. T.O may be one step closer to being an ex-Cowboy. If we get dumped early in the playoffs or even if we win the Super Bowl, I don't see him remaining with the team. The Eagles showed how well they can do without him.
8. I did like seeing Carrie Underwood a lot. She is a beautiful woman.
