The Texans’ season came to an end against the Colts on Saturday and that means thoughts are shifting from on-field matters to offseason ones.

For safety Tyrann Mathieu, the biggest offseason issue is settling where he’ll play in 2019. Mathieu signed a one-year deal with the Texans after being released by the Cardinals and said on Sunday that his first choice would be to stay in Houston.

Maybe I didn’t see a lot of Houston this year probably only 2-3 games but he didn’t impress me. I could be wrong

This could be one of the reasons he didn't play as well this season........Texans weren't sure where to play him.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said he wants Tyrann Mathieu to focus on safety.
"We value versatility, but we also understand that a guy needs to have basically one home," O'Brien said. "He needs to understand and master that one home, which is safety for Tyrann. Then, in different packages that are played less of the time, maybe he does something else." It is an understandable position as Mathieu attempts to learn a new defense, but his value is his versatility. Houston should get him in position to make plays as often as possible.
