Legit WR vs JAG. TWill had the ability to make amazing plays but was not consistent like a legit WR and lacked confidence. He always came off soft.

The difference between those two is a lot in either case.

T Will’s biggest strength was in sand lot football like when protection broke down and the QB had to scramble. Most, not all mind you, of his impact plays were those type. It’s why he performed better with Romo.

Gallup just look oks like a more complete WR at this point. Time will tell whether he is or not.

On the field -

He’s a much better hands catcher, runs better routes, and is infinitely better at high pointing. He is also completely bought in and doesn’t make excuses.

He’s got a long way to go before being the blocker TWill was however. Most receivers do.

Off the field -

He’s sane.

Gallup has been better than TWill from the start, just a better athlete and receiver from A to Z.... not a contest.

Dallas was all over Gallup from day 1. Sent scouts to his pro day and then invited him to one of their limited rookie camps. I'm a CSU homer and it was well known that Dallas wanted him. There were a few other receivers from big name schools that went ahead of him, but they got the they guy they wanted all along.

Consistency

Williams could get 160 yards one game and not have 160 yards combined the next 8 games

He could come up big like he did in the playoff game against the Lions then you don’t hear his name again

Gallup looks to be a consistent receiver kinda like a 6 catch 60 yard type guy every week

What jumps out at you the most about Gallup is his hands. He can high point the football and win it from defenders as well as anybody the Cowboys have had in recent history.

In terms of size and speed Gallup and T-Will are similar. But Gallup has a lot more upside.

Gallup was rated one of the best route runners in his draft class. Williams had to learn route trees once he got here.
