I hear a lot of you knocking the coaching about starting and moving players IE; Martin to RT or McCarthy has to go and they dont know what they are doing.
1) I remember under Garrett that if we had one starter out it was cause for us not playing well and the staff was unable to adjust. I cant even count how many players we have had injured this year with a first year staff trying to figure out their players and not to mention winning 3 games
2) Our All Pro LT and Almost Pro Bowl RT dont play all year, Our AP Center retires during off season not to mention IR for several backups. During Garretts time I can never remember them being able to win games with guys injured.
3) Defensively for most of the first half we were missing LVE, Lee, Awuzie, Lewis, Hill, Brown and Randy Gregory. I dont care what anyone says thats alot of talent on top of learning a new scheme.

Bottom line Im not saying we are a SB team right now but give things some time let these coaches figure things out and get rid of the waste and replace with some young talent.
We need another DT to go with Hill ( who came along nice this year), Gallimore and Wood.
Lawrence, Smith, Gregory, Armstrong and Anae (although he didnt play yet) will be back. Crawford will be gone. Lee will be on coaching staff and LVE is a beast when healthy. Jaylon lol wait and see. Diggs is a keeper Lewis will be gone and probably Awuzie along with Woods in the secondary.
So our needs next year;
2 CB
S
DT
LB

Offense with Erving and Knight we are good at backup Tackles.
Resign Looney. Dak and Jarwin back paired with Schultz makes us more than fine on offense.
We are seeing glimpses of what was expected, lets see what happens on Turkey day and if they win and can play Ravens like they did Steelers I believe we have a lot to look forward to in the not to distant future.

Getting starters back, especially next season will be a world of difference.
Fans think we lack depth, which is somewhat true, but all all teams are this way for the most part. On average most teams have complimentary players. Meaning a players weakness is covered up by very goo to great players around them. But lose those players, like half the starters as we did. Then ALL the complimentary players are exposed.

This happened to Dallas this year. And as the players got back on defense, and a change of scheme, simplifying it some, we are seeing the results.
It took some time, as players on the OL, they are making adjustment, and have some continuity now.

QB, well, looks like Andy settling in, all the players getting more in sync.

Still may (and most likely) go nowhere this season, but signs of coming together is there, just think if the defense played like this to start the season, and Dak not injured. And the OL in Smith and Collins were healthy. Everyone knows what this team could be (but many will not admit it) but it will be a long off-season to wait and see for next year.

Moving Martin to RT and inserting McG at RG solidified the group up front— particularly in the run game. They are starting to find an identity now— and they are getting back to a run focused offense which will help Dalton out

Couple that with the improved play from our front 7, and Wilson’s emergence at S, and we have something to at least build on going fwd.

It certainly has not been pretty, and the division itself is a dumpster fire— but at Thanksgiving, we find ourselves with the chance to take the NFCE lead with a W.

They are showing some grit and fight, and I want to see them continue to get better and better down the stretch
