He is a wuss. No physicality to his game.
Bingo. He had a chance to knock kittle off that huge bobbling catch and whiffed. He made some lame dive with his eyes closed........He wasn't elite this year and certainly wouldn't be starting for SF. They don't tolerate CBs that aren't physical.

Agreed: He played like, "I just signed a huge contract and can't be cut for a few seasons" Diggs

The only person who should be considered for an extension at this point is CeeDee. I’d say Pollard with the tag but if he’s got a bum wheel you might as well just start fresh

I agree. He’s going to command a price tag that is just too high for what he’s actually giving us.

In the TB game he was the only one who didn’t step up.

And then he had a golden opportunity to make a play this game, and he didn’t.

Outside of the Pollard injury, I think that missed int was the biggest play of the game.
He could have easily knocked the ball down on the Kittle long pass, which changed the course of the game. Instead, he meekly whiffed on the tackle. A few plays later he drops an interception that was in his hands. If he makes one of those two plays, we may have won!

He has become a weak player, who is afraid of contact.

IMO we should have a fire sale. Nobody is off limits. This core group will not win a SB or even come close. The only way we will ever win anything is if we luck into a Mahomes or Rodgers type QB in the draft. Somebody so good that they can overcome all of our self inflicted hurdles.

It comes down to risk?

Which side are you on? You want your shut down guy playing? Or do you want him to make a business decision on a couple of tackles a game?

Everyone gets the effort thing. Its what do you do when you are an owner or coach with a lot riding on the line? Things change when there is something of significance to lose. Its why internet GM's are so unreasonable...they have nothing to lose. Real GM's lose a million+ yearly salary if they make risky decisions that dont pan out.

Personally...I dont think Diggs antics are costing us games. Lets see what happens if teams find a way to exploit his reluctance to tackle. Until then...Im cool with a couple business decisions per game that keep my stud corner locking down receivers for 70 snaps a game over. Give me 40 lock down snaps and I'll give you 20-30 yards that Diggs gives up on bad tackling.
@FanofJerry what say you now? Those business decisions certainly came back to bite us today

Yeah the idiot led with his shoulder and looked away instead of punching the ball out.

Edit: feel bad for calling him an idiot, but I was so annoyed with him after that

Diggs was concerningly bad. Dropped an INT but he had a clear chance to knock that ball out on Kittles and he avoided contact. He is going to get a massive contract and he probably isn't worth it. This is the type of situation where Bellicheck would trade high and get a boatload of picks for him.
