What you want is a retention representative. That number has been changing as of late to eliminate these very types of calls. Call the regular Directv number. An automated voice will ask you the nature of your call. Just say "disconnect service". That will get you where you want to go.

Once you say that, though, you've got to play along that you're going to disconnect service because you feel cheated that new subscribers are getting a better deal than loyal, long time customers. Or that Dish Network is offering a better deal. Play the game and see what you get. Some people get a thank you for youe business and we're sorry to see you go, and others get all kinds of goodies. Roll the dice.

Don't be surprised if they call your bluff. They know you're not going to cancel in the middle of football season because Sunday Ticket is non-refundable after week one. So play it smart and you'll probably get a favorable outcome.

I had VERY favorable results with this tactic, and beleive it or not the rep held me to a gentleman's agreement that I not post any of the information on any message boards (I kid you not. They have a list of about 20 of them that are monitored daily for such threads. It's also a reason that the direct line # changes so frequently).

I'll honor her request and not list my bounty (it's honestly the right thing to do, since I agreed and gave my word), but I made out like a bandit.

It helped that I'm a ten year sunscriber to DirecTV AND NFL Sunday Ticket. The long timers get MUCH more favorable consideration.

PS: To all those that don't have DirecTV, get it (if at all possible).

I just called and complained about the Super Fan rate, and was told it is the decision of NFL football to charge the $100, and that Directv was powerless to change it.

I used this tactic last year and it worked.

But this year I decided to try and go without the whole Sunday Ticket since the Cowboys are my local team anyway and I didn't think it was worth it.

But then yesterday I got an offer in the mail for $28.80 for 5 months and free Superfan so I went ahead and did it. It was a number seperate from Directv its 1-866-858-8677. I called Directv first and they knew about the offer but I had to call this specific number, its like its a 3rd party group just for the deal or something.

This would only work for people that don't have ST this year already, and supposedly it was because I have had it for several years and this was the first year I didn't.

I'm sick and tired of calling Directv. Unfortunately, they don't know what they're doing, so I have to pretty much everytime I look at my bill. They keep telling me they'll give me discounts or things for free and then I get my bill and it's completely wrong, and not only are the discounts and everything on there, they've gone and added more charges for things I don't want and never asked for. And then I call them on it and they tell me something new, like they can't give me what they told me before, but they can do this or that. But of course, the same thing happens with what they tell me. They're a bunch of liars I tell you.
