Unless you live in a jungle, try another installer. I had one tell me the same thing. The second guy comes out and installs it without issue. I get better than 80+ percent on all transponders. Some of these guys just quit if they think the job is not a slam dunk.

I wish it was on cable as well.

OR I wish I could just buy the ticket without having to subscribe to the year long plan of direct TV.

Heck I have a dish I can use, used to have the thing hooked up and a great signal, but they said I would have to agree to have at least one year of their basic service before they would let me order the ticket.:banghead:

I have a friend that had the same problem. He lived in a semi-valley. He wanted Sunday ticket real bad. He came to my house and watched a few games but he is a skins fan and it drove him nuts that I woulkd change the channel back to the Cowboys when I figured the Commercial was over. LOL.:skins:

Anyway, what he did was hired a guy to come out and drop this mega pole in the ground and fastened it to his garage. This sucker was huge. He then had the DTV guy come out and re-vevaluate his line of site from that point. The guy however said he would install the dish that high up so they took the pole down. Installed the dish and once it was up all they had to do was position the pole.

It cost him a bunch but he didn't have to come to my house and be tormented.

Ahhh, those were the days. :laugh2:

It's called capitalism. It's what separates us from China, Cuba and the former Soviet Union.

If you posted a picture of the trees, someone may figure out the best solution. One other thing is if you can do it yourself, buy a directv at walmart or somewhere(see if their returnable) and see if you can get a signal from different spots, maybe on your tree.

Another good point.

The first guy talked to my wife when I was out of town.

I didn't believe her (denial, hey this is Sunday Ticket were talking about), so I called and asked them to send someone else.

When the second guy realized I wasn't going to take no for an answer, he found a way to get it done.

IF there is space in between you may get lucky and get a signal, maybe not as strong as normal but still a signal.

My wife's grandfather has his like that. There is just enough room between two trees that he gets a signal.

However he does lose the signal during heavy storms.

That's what I'm praying for. There is enough space between the trees to see some blue sky; hopefully I will get just enough signal or it's back to Champions sports bar on Sundays, which isn't a bad thing. :)

I wish i could do that but it is like 4 really big trees and only 1 of them is on my property...im pretty ticket off!!! i know NFL sunday tix is only on direct tv...is there anyother way to get NFL games..on the net maybe?

You could always have a tall pole attached to the top of your roof (or coming up from the ground up) and have it so tall that the dish can be fastened to the top of it and can clear-view over the trees. Other than that you're pretty SOL.

Very good advice I had the exact same thing happen to me. The second guy came out and hook me right up. Also try to get someone to came back in the morning. In the evening alot of those guys are ready to go home.

ask a neighbor or something if you can place a dish there and run a cable underground or whatever to your place.

worth a try.

I had this same problem. Our back yard is wooded, so we could not get a good view of the satellite.

What we were able to do however was, instead of putting the dish on the house, we mounted it on a tree in the yard, and ran the cable inside (digging a trench to bury the cable).

That covered the Primary satellite. The secondary satellite actually delivers the local channels, and I could not get that at all. So I had to call the cable company to give us basic cable.

there you go!!...i've seen them on long poles
