I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to get all the Dallas games without getting Sunday ticket. It's already annoying enough that my condo association won't let me keep my DirectTV dish (I tried thinking about this from all angles including the law that says an association can't prevent you from having a dish...which doesn't apply to me). I decided my best option was to move my dish to a buddy's house and use slingbox to watch it on my computer.

My relative suggested that I call Direct TV and change my direct tv to Dallas area local stations.

1) Is this possible?

2) If I get Dallas area stations with NFL network, will I get all the Cowboys games?

Are there any other options you guys can think of to get all the Dallas games without having a directTV dish AND be able to watch it on dvr(Cowboy games are often during church here on the West Coast and I have league basketball games on Sundays too. I always make people not tell me the score so it's like I'm watching it live)?

The only other one I could think of would be to find a generous fan that would be kind enough to let me add a dvr on their directtv, slingbox and use some of their broadband bandwidth on Sunday afteroons for a small fee...which is a lot to ask of a stranger...

Im not really sure that you can change to local Dallas channels. I have thought about this as well and I think I was told by some forums and sites that those signals are only broadcasted in the region that they serve.

Sounds like you are in a really tough spot. I might just go to a sports bar and then download the game on monday or tuesday to rewatch it. theres a site that has some great quality captures, HD for some games.

The site doesn't have a lot of activity in the offseason but guaranteed when the regular plays starts going damned near every game of every week will be recorded and posted as a torrent file.

If you need a some help with torrents just let me know and Ill throw you a PM.

Yeah, they instituted "spot beaming" a few years ago. It isn't THAT localized so if you live close enough to Texas, you might still be able to catch that particular beam carrying those channels.
