I recall someone mentioning this in the offseason but will games available on local TV be blacked out on ST? This is concerning given my HD over-the-air signal can break up at times.

Yes, if your local station carries the games, it will be blacked out on ST. Sometimes I did notice last year for the late games (4:15 ET). The games that would be on the local stations would still be shown on ST during the 1st half, but when the 2nd half started, blackout kicked in.

And, the last half of the season, NBC can request which team it wants on Sunday night, so if the Cowboys are red hot, they could be playing a lot on NBC instead of ST.

And even worse, my local stations do not even broadcast in HD, nor will they agree to an exemption allowing me to get the ST-HD signal. This stinks!

I upgraded my DirecTV this summer to get local channel HD. I should be in good shape now, as I think the Cowboys will be on local channels a lot.

If you have the MPEG-4 LIL receiver then you can just switch over to your local channel. Otherwise, I recommend this:

square shooter

It's directional but good to 50+ miles from the transmit towers.
