FYI, NFL Sunday Ticket is free today. So if you have DirecTV but haven't subscribed to the Sunday Ticket, you should still be able to watch any game no matter where you live.
As for the yearly negotiation, I just got the Max Ticket for free. I called on Labor Day and could only get it for $145 so I took that deal. But I called today, asked for rerention service and told them I simply couldn't afford it at $145 and could you find me a better deal. After a wait, they offered it for free with a one-year renewal. But the thing about the renewal is that if you drop DirecTV all together it's just $10 a month from when you drop the service. So if after the season in December, I drop DTV, it would only cost me $80 to get out of my contract.
And because I got only a one year contract, I can do this again next year.
Win-win!
