Each week they have a segment called "Official Review" where Mike Pereira looks at and tries to explain some of the poor calls of the week.

Clearly, you could find a handful from the Dallas game so naturally you would expect one to be on there. Nothing, no phantom PI, no phantom block in the back.

Not even the play that ended the half.

Instead of asking why legit garbage calls were made, they discuss the tuck rule again and review a play where Adrian Wilson levels Heap and is called for a penalty for leading with his forearm on a defenseless receiver.

I suppose they don't want to make anyone look like a fool but whats the point of even having such a segment if you are going to look at the most controversial calls of the week?

heres the vid.

for some reason, the link just doesn't work. click the NFL Network tab and its on the far right.

Inside the nfl did a whole piece on him tonight from sunday and they showed him talking to chris collinsworth about the time issue at the half.

From what I took from it, pereira was defending the official and then saying oh but its wrong...

really poor on ron winters part, like the rest of the game.

I still don't get how a change of posession does not stop the clock.

NFL wants to sweep this away....

I too was expecting something from the Dallas game making it into the NFL network stuff with the head of referees.
Especially with as many crazy calls as we had in that game.
That ref who worked the Chicago game and his crew looked lost at times.
That play before the half was unforgivable in my opinion.
The Witten block....Listening to the Podcast on the ticket-Witten said he thought the ref didn't see the block but only the second part of the block and the guy going down with Witten behind him. And then he assumed he clipped him....I don't understand how an NFL referee can make a call that he does not see. And I think Witten was right in saying that. The guy didn't see it.
Terrell Owens pass interference...Again what kind of call was that? There was nothing there. No pushoff...nothing.
In my opinion an NFL referee should have to see a penalty to call it. But they can't even do that.
Rich Eisen softballed it to Perierra with no clips from the Chicago game. Those refs sucked and it would have been obvious to everyone that crew was terrible.

One of the first things they teach officials in any sport is that if you didn't see it then you can't call it. I would much rather they not call something than to call something that didn't happen.

I may be wrong, but from what I have seen that NFL Network segment tends to only review calls that Pereira can defend. For the most part they avoid blatently wrong calls, unless there is a huge uproar about it.

Uhh the NFL Network is owned by the NFL, it's a propaganda show kinda like an infomercial and not a real news show. They are not going to do anything to make them look bad.

Well, from what I have seen from this segment Pereira will defend anything and go to great lentghs to defend the calls.

Eisen probably knows the drill by now and there is no use arguing with him. It is pretty pointless!

Remember now, this is the same bone head that said the only bad call in the Seattle/Steelers SB was Hasselbacks "tackle" on the interception. The NFL and it's officals are a joke.

NFL Channel is getting too big for its Panties. It charges too much, and is becoming like "State Run TV" in Communists countries. It will get worse until there is an outcry from us, and we stop buying their stuff

What is wrong with the nfl network? You guys are going overboard.

I like the nfl network. There are bad calls in every game. The officials are inconsistent, nothing you can do about it.

THe inside the nfl piece was the best one I have seen on what pereira does and how they grade the plays and officials.

The NFL owns the NFL Network. They aren't going to hang their own.

That will never happen. There would never be enough people complaining about anything that would make NFLN alter the way in which they present their programing.

I agree 100%. Not only that, 98% of what the NFLN that I've watched has been quality programming. I enjoy the NFLN and the Big Ten Network.

I agree...that segment was a joke....it's obvious they are trying to sweep this under the rug, especially in light of the NBA referee scandal.

As far as that particular segment, I didn't see it so I have no comment about it. However, Wade Phillips has already gotten feedback on the calls and he has been told that they were incorrect calls. Not much else you can expect from them.

As for NFLN, it's gotten much better since it's origination, but I could do without some of the endless repeats of NFLTA.

I'm glad they at least acknowledged that they stunk it up with those calls.

I agree about the repeated content, too. The 400th time of Steve Young: In Their Own Words is mind numbing. Those are all old as well. With all the money they make you'd think they could get some fresher stuff.

Not to mention the commercial sponsors getting more than their money's worth for airtime.

Hey everyone,
Here the the message I sent to the NFL Network.

If you are going to have a segment on the NFL network called "Official Review" where Mike Pereira talks about controversial calls from the past week then why don’t you actually have him review the calls that made no sense to anyone. Last week the Dallas vs. Chicago produced at least three calls that the football world has major questions about yet you failed to even discuss them. No phantom PI, no phantom block in the back, not even the play that ended the half.

I may be wrong, but from what I have seen that NFL Network segment tends to only review calls that Pereira can defend. For the most part they avoid blatantly wrong calls, unless there is a huge uproar about it. Is this true? If so, please do not even bother with the segment.

I would encourage everyone to state their opinion. Here is the link; http://www.nfl.com/contact-us

I don't get this. On my digital cable, I have to get a special sports tear to get the NFLN but it only costs $2 a month. That is very cheap and well worth it to me.

Something else I saw during the game and just saw in a highlight was Romo scrambling and a defender flies by him and smacks him in the helmet, but Romo gets away to make a pass. No flag for hitting the QB's helmet. If that'd been Ware or Roy..15 easy.
