Watched the game this morning and was disappointed in the following:

Mickens
Ball
Proctor
McGee
Austin
Buehler

The starters looked good for the short time they were in there. It appears as if they are back to form and clicking.

We have little to no depth from what I saw. Choice ran the ball well, as did Lattimore, considering the blocking they did, or did not have. McGee looked lost to me.

Buehler not only didn't kick the ball into the stands, he didn't even get a touchback.

Mickens is a looong way from being serviceable as a NFL CB. Ball didn't look much better.

Austin hurt his chances dropping the slant that hit him in the hands. Had he caught it, he had a ton of room to run.

Other than the starters, the team looked flat. But the named players disappointed me.

Even though ESPN says it was Folk, I thought it was Buehler that kicked it 6 yards deep for the Touchback.

I might have missed that. I guess his field goal and one touchback clears his name.

I have to question whether you even watched the game, because beuhler did have a touchback, and tell me how are you going to judge the special teams coverage if you kick it for touchbacks in preseason. The first kick clearly was meant to assess the coverage teams. He kicked one for a touchback, which I'm sure he was given permission to do.

What do you expect from rookies in their first NFL game action, Mickens, Beuhler and Mcgee, I guess you expect all pro performances. They are rookies, they need three years to develop and judge, this isn't college football.

ball has been moved from safety to corner for this game due to injuries, he didn't get alot of time at corner in training camp.

Austin hasn't done anything in this league yet over the last three years, but again, its only the first game, relax.

If your disapointed by one stinking lousy preseason football game, don't bother watching them until the first half of the third preseason game, that's when you'll see the starters for a length of time and some scheming, otherwise, preseason is a waste of time, it's really only to judge five or six spot on the roster. take it for what preseason football is, preseason football..

Other than the depth statement you made, I have to disagree with your assessment. McGee is a rookie and doesn't get all the reps that the starter and backup QB get. What did you expect from him? He'll be better.

Buehler did very well for his first game. Austin will get more chances during the other preseason games.

First game down. No major injuries. Depth is a concern on O-line especially.

Other than that, our staring o-line was creating holes that I could've gained 10+ yards on and I'm slow, fat and white. Felix looked amazing. Barber looked like Barber. Romo looked good. Witten and Bennett looked really good. Hurd looked solid.

Don't know what else we could've asked for other than depth. Have a I mentioned we have little depth yet?

Ball looked good at safety and alright at corner, especially as our 4th CB on the depth chart. I cam away impressed with Ball.

McGee did about what I expected him to

he was afraid to throw the ball, besides checkdowns, all mini-camp and TC

and it seems like he's still a little afraid, although he did start to test them later on, dude definitely has potential and seems to have the right makeup, I think he'll be alright

The Quest for Six: "... how are you going to judge the special teams coverage if you kick it for touchbacks in preseason. The first kick clearly was meant to assess the coverage teams. He kicked one for a touchback, which I'm sure he was given permission to do."

Huh. That's a good point. It flat didn't cross my mind that Buehler might have been told to take something off of that kickoff. But it would make sense.

Have any of the coaches mentioned this?

I admitted I missed the Buehler touchback. Maybe I expected nothing but touchbacks.

Ball didn't impress me at all. Everytime a deep pass was caught, it looked to me like he was standing there watching it instead of covering it.

I never said the team was bad, or that the first preseason game is an indicator of what they can do. I just said I was disppointed. With all the hype Mickens has gotten, I expected to see some talent. I didn't.

The starters looked reall good and I am optomistic about that. But heaven help us if any of them get hurt.

No he didn't. Ball looked ok. Ill give Mickens a pass for now, coming off a knee injury and being a rook and all. Brown totally sucks, he aint been cut yet?

I think ball was getting picked on early in the game...Brown was horrible though

I think we're sharing a brain here.

I didn't think Ball looked bad at all.

As for Mickens, he's a rookie, coming off injury, and he missed OTAs because his class hadn't graduated yet. Let's give the kid a couple of weeks.

As for the o-line depth, I thought Free looked decent. (Maybe that's the result of low expectations, I don't know.) The rest were pretty 'meh' though, including Holland.

And yes, Brown looked absolutely terrible.

Beuhler did do ok in punt coverage down field... I think he was in on 2 stops

What did you expect of McGee. He's a 4th round rookie playing in his first NFL game.

We should of ran the option the entire second half...That would of been awesome.
