Discipline. Getting a 30 yard run called back because of a holding penalty.
Or getting a holding penalty. Instead of a 30 yard completion.
Field position. We can’t keep getting the ball inside around the 20 yard line.
And letting other team start on their own 45.
Accountability. Revolving door. I’d rather have a player with less talent , that’s not hurting the team because of penalties. Release , trade ,something .
Yes it’s only the first preseason game. But it was pretty sloppy out there.

Considering reducing penalties was supposed to be a focus this offseason, it's concerning.

For the coaching staff, this really refreshes and places the penalties issue up front and center early.
Hopefully they hammer this problem into oblivion through the rest of preseason and we see some more precise play from the starters and 2nd stringers.

Hopefully.

It's time to start cutting off some noses to spite some faces!
Regulators! Mount up.

I adore that movie.
Thank you. I'm now struggling between watching Godfather, or Feeders tonight.
Close call... close one.

The frustrating part for me was not the just penalties, but the fact a lot of the calls came on third down - for both sides of the ball.

Not always, but sometimes the reason you get a 30 yard gain in the first place is because of said holding penalty

.
Have to figure out how to score first and stay ahead of the field position game. Slow Offensive starts gas a defense.
