Ditka on Mon. Night Countdown: Cowboys are snakebit

I think he's right. :(

To an extent. Dallas is a foot (Baltimore) and a couple of inches (Giants) from being 5-2, but the Cowboys also have created enough of their own problems to make themselves 3-4.

When you put yourself in tight situations, you give yourself a chance to be snakebit. When you couple that with mistakes such as time management that would have allowed Dallas to line up a better FG attempt against the Ravens and the receiver making a brilliant catch, but foolishly putting his hand down (considering where he was) against New York, you make yourself a losing team.

I'm not saying just those plays made a difference (there have been a lithany of problems), but those are the ones that make people view the team as snakebit.

To some extent yea. Seems like every bad throw is picked. Most big calls go the other way.

BUT, those snakebitten moments are intensified by the fact that this team makes a lot of its own bad mistakes that lead to those moments on little, simple things. A lot of those moments could be avoided by being more fundamentally sound and disciplined.

Low football IQ, inconsistent, and overrated does not equate to snake bit. Hard to make the snake bit argument when you turn the ball over 6 times in a game.

to clarify what Ditka said..."they're snakebit and the snake is them."

The reason this team is snakebit is because if finds itself constantly tripping over its own two feet into the snake pit.

Agree. That or competent coaching.
