I download the latest version. Does anyone know if this player is capable of taking screengrabs? I don't see that function, and ctrl-printscreen didn't work either when I paused the film.

Try just pressing print screen or alt-print screen.

bb gun if you are looking for something that can play video and grab frames, try mpeg streamclip.

I use it all the time to encode qt files and to grab individual frames.

the only thing is you will need to de-interlace 1080i video frames.

Didn't work. Just a black screen when I dump it into MS Paint. I'm trying to capture a dvr-ms file of the Dallas-GB game in HD, but it's very erratic when I open it with other players. Divx, conversely, plays it flawlessly.

Tried it, but got an "unsupported file type" error message.

Yeah. I just realized what filetype you are using.

Do a search for that filetype. I imagine there is a free editing/encoding program that can handle it.

You could always try installing the vlc player. Some of the filetypes that the OTA HD Tuners record in are very difficult to handle for a lot of media players, the codecs dont support them.

intervideo windvd might work.

man you gotta get one of these Hauppauge HD PVRs. Capture any source over component cable. Takes a lot of disk space, but hard drives are dirt cheap now. Rewatching the GB game and it looks as good or better than the original HD broadcast.

Hey man, You bought one of those? I am really interested in one.

I use a happauge wintv 1600. It is all I need because all the games are broadcast locally OTA in HD. WIth beyond tv's software it is a perfect setup. Cut the commercials in videoredo and you are set.

But I am interested in that new HD PVR. I am waiting to see if they update to 5.1 audio capture and if the price will come down. Also, blue ray burners coming down. Having that capture device with a blue ray burner would be the perfect setup.

So do you like it so far?

Keeping in mind I always researched TV capture devices, but never bought one until now. This thing rocks. And the beauty of it is it will capture anything you can hook it up to (set top box, Xbox360, etc). It even has pass through outputs. The drivers still have limitations but I think they will develop over time.

If VLC or BS Player cannot do it for you, then I would suggest burning your computer.
