Cowboys | Dixon contract update
Sun, 27 Apr 2008 20:17:59 -0700
Updating a previous report, Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports the Dallas Cowboys have signed undrafted free-agent DL Marcus Dixon (Hampton) to a three-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Looks as if they expect this guy to stick and be a little more then your typical UDFA huh?

I think three years is pretty standard for undrafted free-agents.

If so then sorry for wasting bandwidth on this. I figured they were much shorter.

3 years is pretty standard.

The tell-tale sign of how strongly someone is wanted is the bonus given. I think some of the highly sought after UDFAs have gotten bonuses of $20K in the past.

a few years ago, we gave a UFA 20K or more in bonus money, and he didn't last past TC

No, you are right, we arent projecting him as a LB.

Every DE we draft isnt an OLB convert (although most are). Some DE's will actually play DE for us. A 295 lb DE fits this description.

I know u knew this, this was more directed at the guy u responded to.
