So what does our DL Depth Chart look like now?

The big variables are obviously the health of DLaw and Crawford, the development of David Irving and whether Irving or Crawford is at DE or DT.

RDE – DLaw, Mayowa, Taco

3T – Collins, Paea

1T - Thornton, Irving

LDE – Crawford, Taco, Tapper

The one good piece of our DL is we have some interchangeable parts in terms of position versatility. Helps a bit when the inevitable injury bug hits.

We don't have that luxury in the secondary; time to stock the cupboard a bit.

I don't really want Crawford on the outside. He does nothing there. He had his best season when he was healthy and played inside.

The main issue with Crawford is his health, then the position he plays. If he is healthy he adds a lot, if he playing through injury he is still OK in run defense at LDE.

If healthy, do you want him starting at LDE or backing up Collins at 3T? I would take LDE.

Severe addict =/= smoking weed. As someone with "a severe addict" in your family, I sure hope you hold out more hope for him/her than you do Gregory. Geez...

Cut it out. Have hope, brudda.

You can be addicted to ANYTHING. If it effects your life and ability to make decisions.....you're an addict. I'm totally for weed being completely legalized. The guy can't lay off. He's an addict. Or just doesn't give a **** about football.

When dealing with the emotional abuse that an severe addict gives you, it's not about hope as much as the fear of getting the "they od'd" phone call. Geez.

Ill never believe it until i see it.
He's already flashed it. Even moreso last season before he was stripped of us in the playoffs.

It's fine. I understand what message board I'm on. I won't try to make you think differently. I believe, personally, that he should have the wherewithal to abstain when the tests are due, much like our beloved Step did. I have faith that our Cowboys brass are all over him, watching him, protecting him, as he is a sure-fire (IMO) elite prospect, and deserves that's attention.

With that said...

Addicted and dependent are two different things, brother.

Semantics. Have faith for Gregory and your family member.

But to know that you have to know the person. Do you know Gregory? He's my fav. Dlineman since Ware. Believe me. I hope just like you he makes it back. My brother only responded to tough love. The guilt of providing that is a lot for certain people. Jerry's not a "tough love" kinda guy (seems like.)

I agree about the physical gifts. Ive just moved on from him. He just hasn't made that difference yet. Another year goes by. Im just tired of waiting.

"Starting" is somewhat irrelevant IMO. Players are going to be moved around and subbed alot. Crawford could be the starting base end and sub for Thronton some in passing situations. Most passing situations where he is on the field he is likely to be inside IMO. You will also likely see alot of Irving and Paea inside. Collins most likely gets the most snaps at DT then anyone.

Lots of depth this year
