The years of Gurode and Columbo, I screamed for improvements on the OL. I was a good day seeing JJ commit to Tyron Smith at #9, then Fredbeard on accident at #31 and the steal of Zach Martin at #16 over JJ's love Manzel. Now, what DAL has invested on the OL, it is overdue on the DL. David Irving need to be established as the future LDE. I'd love to see a draft complement of Myles Garrett, Derek Barnet, Taco Charlton, Jordan Willis, Tanoh Kpassagnon as draft options R1/R2 and DT's -Maliek McDowell, Chris Wormley, Davon Godchaux, Jarron Jones. Need to build heavy on DL. Irving, re-sign Terrill McClain, Collins is a good beginning. DLaw, Tapper and Gregory are all pipedreams. Jack Crawford is a JAG on any other roster. TCrawford is a bust since his contract. He requires a paycut for a backup reserve role to a newly drafted rookie. DRAFT THE DL.

From what I've seen. David Irving seems to be more effective in a limited snap role.

Maybe with time that changes, but as far as I'm concerned. We are still looking for our starting DEs. Until someone steps in and can remain effective an entire game. The starting jobs across the line are up for grabs.

I don't think DLaw is done. I think his back injury left him ineffective. I expect a bounce back season next year. And I wouldn't count out Tyrone Crawford yet either, maybe get him back at a DT where he was more effective. Mayowa should be a good rotational guy as he picked it up in the latter half of this year. I am with you on resigning McClain. I do think we need to invest heavily in DL early on, maybe 2 of the 1st four picks. With a CB as well in the 1st 3 rounds. Would like to see a Safety and WR in there somewhere too, to round out the 1st 5 picks.

Yes. Get some help D line.

But keep balance with what you have now.

Consistency and stamina can be improved.

If I'm the Cowboys and I decide to let J. Crawford and McClain walk, I'm going after Bennie Logan.

Sounds good to me.
Though I believe they may try to resign both. McClain I am fine with. Jack Crawford, they need to let go. He has a few good plays here and there, and for some reason they like him. I never seen much in him. He is not a difference maker. But the coaches like him, like the kept Hayden around. I wasn't going to complain they signed him, as I said, he was good for a few plays here and there, as to where Hayden was not. But they did only sign him to a one year deal. So he is very replaceable.

However, I can see another one year deal, but he will have competition even more so this next year.
Dallas likes to resign their own 2nd and 3rd tier FA's for whatever reason. My other fer is they will sign Dunbar again, over McFadden or someone else.

J. Crawford is the new Nick Hayden: No talent; all effort. Marinelli seems to require one (Hayden-type) on his d-line.

It's rumored that he needs more back surgery this off season. If i find the link, I'll post it

It always sounds good but then the draft comes and the guys they want aren't there so they end up taking the Best Player Available (non-DL) and then can't address DL until a later round, where there is lesser talent.

I fully expect that to happen again...

I tend to agree....then they will do something that leaves us scratching out heads again. I fully expect some player picked that will be a red shirt IR type in the first 4 rounds, or some kind of trade for one.
For once I would just like a straight stick to the board, and current picks type draft. Unless someone offers a great deal.
Maybe tony will be involved. That is an entirely different topic and for later on near draft time though.

However, in the 1st 4 rounds, I want t come away with players that will contribute this year....a DE, CB / S, WR that has speed, great separation type speed, OT or S.
Then they can use the 6th and both 7th's on another DB, OL, WR / RB type that can return kicks and punts.

I'm not drafting all Dlinemen, I'm getting a couple in free agency. I don't have time to wait 3 and 4 years for some kid's light to come on.
