Colin Cowherd giving props to the Cowboys DL. Said they should be getting headlines as well as the offense.
Stats...we lead the NFL in QB pressures and are 2nd in sacks.
Could it be the D is finally coming around. It has improved as of late. In spite of us all, well many of us whine about the D. But rightfully so at times. About the tackles or lack of, and the lack of turnovers, but those are happening now too. Jist not at the pace we want.

I will sit back and see how they do from week to week, though still a bit scared and don't trust hem overall yet. But still can't complain on the pass rush as much as before.

DL has the makings of a solid group for now and the future.
LB crew could use a true stud MLB, but definitely needs serious depth at the least.
Secondary is a work in progress....we took a step backwards by going on a full youth movement everywhere except Scandrick; now we need to see if the CB's and S's can grow into a solid group....it's painful to watch, but there's nothing else you can do unless you want to go into free agency for proven starters and sit the young pup down.

Brown, Woods, Awuzie, and Heath are all up and down every game (injured in some cases), and even Lewis should actually be getting spot duty at this point, but it is what it is.

D is not coming around. The secondary needs a lot of work and our LBers are dependent on Lee. But the DL is definitely coming around. We have a great 4 man pass rush with Irving and Collins at DT and Crawford and Lawrence at DE. We could use a run stuffing DT though since our run defense is one of the worst in the league. We'll also likely move on from Crawford in the near future. It would be nice if Gregory could actually get his act together. I'm just afraid we're gonna cut ties with Lawrence or Irving for the lackluster prospect of Taco.

Our total defense may be strong the last quarter of the season when the young secondary is a bit more comfortable. I see Woods winning the SS spot in camp next season, if he doesnt by the end of this year. Which he may

Although I like what I've seen, I'm also a little cautious about giving them too much praised. We've racked up sacks the last few weeks against a beat-up Green Bay line, a San Francisco team with its QB getting his first start and a beat-up Washington line.

Its funny because we came on a bit last year and because of a lack of name recognition most ignored it. Then going into this year some of us had a cautious optimism but no one expected this. However, its a good lesson with young players that flash. We are so prone to reside ourselves to past performances. Dlaw and Irving have shown us sometimes young DEs need time to develop. You would think wed be more patient with Taco considering. Hopefully our secondary progresses as well.

We have a lot of youth playing right now on the D. Everyone should have expected some growing pains. As as bad as the D has played at times this year, we are still 1 special teams play and one threw the hands interception from being 6-1. I think this D will be good to very good for the remaining of the year, if we can stay healthy.

This Defense is better than last years but you guys just can't see it yet.

All we've hear from some folks is "It's all about the pass rush".

Well you've got the pass rush.

We'll see what it translates into.
That's it, Mike. Our DL/pass rush has been outstanding, best since '87 (I saw in some other thread), if our LBs and DBs shores itself up, we may be looking at a 2008 Giants run, when they all started clicking on D, went on a run when the time was right.

I didn't think, for one second, that we would be players for the division after the 3-3 start (I did have extreme faith for a WC slot), but if our LB corps and DB corps start sticking, with an already championship caliber O, we may get this division. We may sweep the Eagles, man.

I said if we lost this game to the Skins, I was out. But the way we won -- with effective, disrupting pass rush and solid open field hits from our DBs -- I may be even higher than being "in" on this team. We beat KC, and you Mods may need to put a leash on me :)

Exactly.......
We are 2nd in the league in sacks and 1st in QB pressures I believe{?}.

The secondary needs dire help whether its coaching or players or a bit of both. It infuriates me to see or DBs playing 10 yard off a WR time and again.

I think many expected mid-season for the D to start clicking. It has begun a little earlier than thought. We ain’t perfect, but getting better by the week.

I still feel were missing a key cog at MLB stud (hopefully jaylon can FULLY recover not be 60% of what he was) and a legit safety

Dline looks like we finally have some bodies and corner with the youth movement looks very good... green at times... but they play hard

Neither does the rest of the league. Somebody tell these QBs they shouldn't be carving us up like this.

We are getting sacks and pressure but we ARE NOT stopping the run. This makes our defense this year no better (and actually a little worse) than last year.

Sacks and pressures are sexy, but stopping the run - which we lead the league in last year - is more effective. Yes, we need both. But we are no better off than a year ago despite the sacks.

No we are not. Because we are so much worse against the run.

Improve that, and we can talk about being better than last year.

The plan was right all along as they went after safeties and a stud MLB. It's just the fact that they are so young, and the MLB stud has one of the most messed up knees of all time!

Your making your decision based on Lee and Hitchens being out which skews the stats. Wait and see.
