Just when you thought we were on the right road you're one-two years behInd again.

I say we need a more flexible DL with the ability to play two gaps so a run stuffer, another edge, and DE. You can get a 0, 1 and 5 R3-4 and an Edge R2. You have some on board who may be a 5 and two-three 1s.

There are 6-10 FAs at the edge rusher available.

Your thoughts?

Did Dallas lose Tyrone Crawford? last time i checked he was starting RDE. Gregory played on passing downs. He was very successful on the snaps he played but it wasnt much. Too much is being made about this. This defense isnt dependent on one guy anymore. Irving was a noshow and the team moved on.

I don't think its the end of the world. Irving was already gone and I was assuming Gregory would start at RDE next year but there was no guarantee he would be more than a pass rush specialist, something can and likely will Armstrong can step up to.

The net effect is more reps to Crawford at DE and more pressure on Taco and Armstrong to peform.

We went from (hopefully) this if Gregory grabbed the starting spot:

LDE - DLaw, Armstrong
1T - Collins, Woods
3T - Free Agent, 2nd round pick
RDE - Gregory, Taco, Crawford

to this:

LDE - DLaw, Crawford
1T - Collins, Woods
3T - Free Agent, 2nd round pick
RDE - Taco, Armstrong

Gregory has a much higher upside but we needed development from Taco and Armstrong also. And it is likely we will get it from both guys - especially Armstrong.

Gregory had 6 sacks with a chance to have 10-12 next year...his loss is a huge blow. Tyrone Crawford was abused badly by the Rams and Colts..badly. He's overpaid and now it's tough to move him.

When did Crawford get moved from starting RDE to Backup LDE?

The problem against the Rams was our interior line, not Crawford.

The problem with the rams was they outcoached us and attacked our weakness something I’ve never seen our coaching staff do

Must be a LA thing

Crawford was abused go watch the tape. NFL game pass $79 a year. Watch any game in slow motion plus the all-22. A. Woods was abused too along with LVE and Jaylon. Crawford is being paid $10 million a year and he blows.

He didn't. He is RDE now and a LDE in my projection for next year - which is a better fit for him.
He;s not going to play LDE. At the end of the yr IDK if you noticed but Taco was playing LDE and not RDE. This yr Armstrong will get the snaps Gregory was getting.

Ill remind you tho Charlton got off to a good start in 2018 and had a injury to his hand, and then shoulder.

Imagine if Taco uses this opportunity to get 25 sacks this year

Lawrence was aswell, does that mean hes trash?

Gregory is a loss, but its not huge.

Lawrence has nothing to do with any of what I said. The problem is Gregory was the talent, the playmaker. Crawford is an overpaid non-playmaker, good guy though.

Ur saying crawford was abused by the rams and colts. And so was Lawrence. You cant cherry pick which players fit your argument of the moment.

Lawrence wasn't abused and he played hurt. A.Woods & Crawford were "abused" and abused badly. Crawford is an overpaid non-playmaker. Good locker room guy, good practice guy, leader of men try hard type that lacks any ability to get to the QB or shed a block to stuff the run when facing the better o-lines.
