Hurts also seems to be more accurate this year, or could just seem that way because he has some WR's that hang on to the ball now.
Been saying this for all QBs on our schedule. No idea how fast this D is until game-time. Can't simulate this kind of speed in practice.
Heard from the Zoners and the media pundits, Cowboys have historically worst offseaosn .. huh..one game out. Not bad for fielding the worst team in the NFL per person and post-game 1 opinion. We keep hearing Philly has enjoyed an excellent offseason.
Let's find out if it's as impressive their hype suggests.
If we can’t contain their number 4 rushing attack Hurts may not have to do a whole lot. We won’t get a lot of pass rushing opportunities if we can’t hold up against the run. Our run defense has shown some cracks.
Without Hurts' 50+ yards a game. Their rushing attack would be more like the number 20 rushing attack. Just sayin. The run defense has shown some cracks at times but other than the Bucs game they seem to have been able to shut the run down when they need to. It'll be interesting to see if they can do it this week.
You obviously haven’t been watching them closely Miles Sanders is on pace for over 1200 yards. He’s averaging 4.8 a carry. Philly ranks sixth in rushing. They put up over 200 yards on the ground against Detroit in the opener. Detroit may have their issues defensively but Philly can run the football and we’ve shown some cracks against the run. Washington put up just over 140 yards on us. it kept us from getting a lot of pass rushing opportunities against Carson Wentz who has been the most sacked QB in the entire league. We only got to him twice. If we can’t contain their running game they’ll win by at least 2 scores. No doubt their game plan will be to try and punch us in the mouth on the ground. We’ve had our issues in the trenches against teams that are physical.
I stand by my statement. Without Hurts' contribution their rushing numbers aren't much different from the Cowboys. Take away his 260-ish yards and they're under 540.. which is actually less than what the Cowboys have. Having a QB that the defense has to account for as a runner makes life much easier on a running back because it forces the defense to hold a tick before attacking the ball. Sanders is a quality back but his numbers are inflated by the big outings against JAX and Detroit and as I said, he is helped by the fact that the defense has to worry about Hurts. I don't want to disrespect him because I think he's a good runner, but I think our defense can handle him. It's bigger, power backs that give this defense problems which he is not.
I do agree that their plan is going to be to punch our defense in the mouth. I just think this version of the Cowboys defense won't be so easy to do it to. This bunch is going to punch back.
3 sacks for the entire year after signing a $40 million contract. Truth hurts.
